We decided to take our teenagers to le Voltaire as we can’t travel to France at the moment. Luckily le Voltaire is just 10mins from home. The food was perfect in every way and the service so friendly. We opted for the specials menu to be ready to us in French. All the staff merge between French and English easily which made us feel very comfortable.

We always loved this restaurant, but I was disappointed this time. My fellow diners were happy with their meals, but I ordered the Steak Frites Salade - thinly cut scotch fillet with Paris butter, salad and fries. My steak was grisly and fatty, and the salad was just lettuce with a spiral of beetroot. I couldn’t finish the steak, and my fellow diners told me to tell the waitress who said she would pass it onto the chef, but we didn’t hear anything. Maybe I was just unlucky, but very disappointed.

During the pandemic they’re open 9-5 selling their amazing, mouthwatering bread in several varieties, and such delicious sweet treats, with takeaway hot lunch options. We have been a few times and nothing we have picked up has lasted long at home. Please support this lovely local business whilst enjoying the best bread and treats in the area!

From the moment we entered the restaurant to we left entering the we were treated like royalty , the menu is huge with so many different choices for French and Westerners. The food was great and plentiful, my partner had scollops for entree, lamb shanks for main and creme boluai for desert. I had french onion soup ( not as good as other French restaurants. 1/2 duck in Orange sauce and pancakes for entree. The wine list was also extensive with wines from all over the world but some were expensive, but the mid price range the wine was great. I woill be going back and try some of their other great dishes.

A wonderful dining experience. Food was fantastic, great wine list, friendly helpful staff. A fabulous setting also. A great place to take someone special or dining with friends; I would even feel comfortable just to sit at the bar and have a glass of wine and some cheese on my own. My lamb rack was cooked to perfection! Dined with friends so they recommend we share the garlic buttered steamed veggies to compliment our meals. Can’t wait to go back, and great that it is fairly local to me. I believe it’s open 7 nights.
