Description: Set on the stunning shores of Pittwater, The Newport is a vibrant gathering place for all ages. Nestled amongst idyllic gardens, and incorporating various outdoor dining spaces and bars, the sprawling grounds include areas perfect for whiling the day and night away. Crafted by Executive Chef Sebastien Lutaud, and pizza maestro Vincenzo Biondini, The Newport's diverse marketplace of food experiences include Australian grass-fed beef burgers, ever-classic fish and chips, wood-fired pizzas, and a wide range of fresh salads. As well as an extensive wine, beer and cocktail list, fresh juices, smoothies, milkshakes, and freshly-brewed coffee by Sydney roasters Will & Co. For children and the young at heart, The Newport features a games area reminiscent of a vintage gymnasium - think badminton, ping pong, a giant magnetic Scrabble board, and exercise bikes that can charge mobile phones. The Newport also offers an exciting programme of free events and activities, with live music at the heart of the entertainment experience. One of the most iconic venues in the country, The Newport is a historic destination that embraces the natural beauty of The Northern beaches and the generous spirit of the local community.

Dined at the Newport in the Serviced Area on the weekend - the setting is absolutely spectacular, as you look over at the Pittwater. The menu is extensive, ranging from Burgers and Pizza, to Chicken Schnitzel, steaks and seafood. We were a party of 7, and decided to get a few different pizzas to all share - they were delicious. I can highly recommend the Prosciutto Rucola Grana and the Capricciosa. So beautiful sitting watching the sun set over the Pittwater listening to the DJ play some really nice tunes, that were followed by a band playing some really good laid back vibes. All in all, and really enjoyable evening at the Arms.

We went here one afternoon before Christmas and the atmosphere was simply amazing. Very well set out and plenty of places to sit and eat. We ordered food and the service was excellent. Sat near the water and watched the sunset, beautiful.

If you pick the less crowded times this venue provides a great place for a large family get together. We were a group of 11 in several cars and we ( a family of 4 adults) found free parking at the location car park quite quickly but then we did arrive between lunch and evening time at about 5 pm ( in the holiday period between Xmas and NY). You then find a table and pick which of the 4 or 5 restaurants you want to go along to and order from. As you pay at the ordering point this avoids that moment at other normal restaurants when the large group has to divide up the bill and decide whether or not to allow for those that didn’t drink alcohol, only had a small bite etc. Our burgers and chips were tasty with a good sized portion. Queues at the Shack and at the separate drink ordering point were not bad with just a 5 minute wait from food order to collection. ( I’ve rated “service” for the kiosk people as you serve yourself to the table using a tray. The Shack burgers and chips are in a box). They seem quite hot on lone under 18 visitors as my 20 year old son nipped out the car to use the loo before we parked up but they wouldn’t let him in straight away until someone came along to affix a pink wrist band as I guess it saves them having to ID people at the point of the drink ordering. That’s not a complaint it’s just something visitors are to be aware of. There are fantastic views over a lagoon and marina if you can nab the right table.

Just plain ordinary- in fact less than ordinary. It was packed full of people, 20mins in a line to order and then food took ages. 45 minutes for a single pizza - it was all dough and no toppings. At just under $30 - it was disappointing. Two drinks were $28!!! Loud, loud music blasting all through the meal. We are staying across the road for a wedding and we can still hear the music blasting in our room. Seriously over rated. It was so bad it was laughable.
