A day spent at Taronga zoo Sydney is well worth it.
So much to see and very well laid out with good paths all the way around.
The animals all looked well card for and lots off information about them.
The cafe offers a good selection of food at reasonable prices.
Gift shop is well stocked should you want to take home gifts.

An easy busy ride from downtown, brought us to an extensive and well-laid out zoo, easy to follow the trails and take in all the exhibits. The animals looked to be well-cared for. Highlights for us on the day we went were the brachiating apes and squirrel monkeys

Great zoo--we were impressed with their large collection of australian animals, as well as the excellent information that they provided about the care of the animals.

The main reason for our visit was the koala encounter. The koala we visited was sleeping, so we could only see its back. Next door, there was a koala eating lively, but the guides would not let us visit the other box despite steps away. Very disappointing. The guides said "we cant allow you in". Cant? It is called wont. Seems stupid and rude to guests who travelled from far away, buying tickets to see a sleeping koala, and not allowed to visit the awake koala next door. At least the guards could have offered us a return later in the day when the koala woke up, but no. We wont be back.

We enjoyed our day at the zoo, it was busy due to school holidays but this did not spoil our enjoyment. We liked taking to the keepers and volunteers who weee very knowledgeable about the animals All the staff were welcoming and friendly.
