The house is wonderful and owned by very helpful and generous hosts.
The house is beautifully restored and the photographs do not do it justice.
The kitchen is equipped with everything a cook might need including sharp knives, scales, hand-blender, plenty of pans and all the spices, oil, salt, pepper etc you could need. It was easy to prepare a full Christmas lunch as at home. There is a large utility room that stored and kept the Christmas food cold plus a fridge and freezer.
The bedrooms are warm, well decorated with comfortable beds and lovely cotton sheets. The sloping floor in one room takes some getting used too and adds to the charm.
The 2 bathrooms are lovely colours with a great power shower in one and plenty of hot water.
There is a comfortable large sitting room with a huge fire place. Generously the hosts gave us access to their stock of firewood.
The snug sitting room with a tv and sofa. It is a good idea to ask how to make sure the wood burner in this room does not smoke. There is a TV in this room.
It was the thoughtfulness that made us feel so welcome. There was the basket of provisions that included wine, local cheese, tea, coffee and much more with bacon, eggs and everything for a big breakfast, the vases of flowers and a Christmas tree offered as dressed or not.
In December we did not use the outside space but hope to return one summer.
Nearby Presteigne has good food shops. There are great pubs in the surrounding area and beautiful countryside for walks
It was the perfect house for Christmas.
Thank you Annie and John
