Had a perfect few days break in home from home holiday cottage, in an idyllic environment. Thank you for arranging for the sun to shine as well.
The town itself is quaint and friendly. Lots of choice for places to eat in the evening. We had our dog with us and were very pleased that both long and shorter walks were close by. Presteigne is a great base if you want to take in the surrounding area. On our short visit we managed Hay on Wye and Rhayader to watch the Red Kites feeding. The house itself is large and well equipped with lots of different bedrooms. Our dog loved the garden and as she explored it right to the end we were delighted to find the orchard there. We did have a cheeky pick and have made good use of the fruit, an unusual but tasty souvenir.
Lovely spacious and comfortable house. Perfect for our extended family break, Grandparents, Parents and 3 Children.
Lovely olde worlde cottage - everything seems original, right down to the beautiful wonky floorboards! It is right in the centre of town and within walking distance of shops and pubs. Very spacious, two bathrooms, ample space for everyone. The kitchen has everything you could possibly want, and the garden is gorgeous. Ann, the owner, was very flexible with check-in times, and responded to messages very promptly. Highly recommended.
Presteigne, a small and friendly Welsh town, still with real shops and green country all round. The house is ancient, half timbered, with a good arrangement of rooms. An exceptionally large garden for a town house. Very quiet street, with free parking at the door. Lots of things to do around - we were there for the Hay Festival but also visited the Sidney Nolan trust farm house, Offa's Dyke, Ludlow Castle and canoed on the Wye (excellent rental company, Want to Canoe? at Hay). Two exceptional meals, the Green Cafe at Ludlow and at the Stagg at Kington. Would be happy to stay there again.
