“Fantastic retreat in a lovely location”

What a fantastic place! We booked this on the strength of the TripAdvisor reviews and we not disappointed.

At the end of a quiet lane and overlooking the Dovey Valley, there was total peace and quiet except for the sheep and sound of the river. We lit the log burner some nights (that that it was really needed!!!), and had our evening dinner on the balcony on others.

Well situated for Aberwystyth, the Vale of Rheidol and South Snowdonia, we're looking forward to returning as soon as we can.

“As wonderful as ever!”

This was our second stay, and the lodge was as lovely as last time. Unfortunately we only had one day of sun,-- òn the other days we had at least several hours of rain. If I could make one complaint, it's about the lighting. It can sometimes be difficult to see what you're doing, and trying to read can be a nightmare Squinting does nothing for my wrinkles!
Overall though Tan y Coed is a wonderful, comfortable place to stay, and I recommend it highly.

“An Amazing Minimoon”
Reviewed 23 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

If we could give this cabin a higher rating we would!
We spent the first week as a married couple in this cabin and it's surpassed everything we wanted.
The cabin was clean and very well presented with beautiful and luxurious furnishings, every little detail was thought of. The mattreds was very cosy, made even better with a nice duvet and nice soft bed clothes.
The veranda was amazing, whether it was to watch the military planes flying over head one day or the lambs, sheep, pheasants, birds of prey and small birds peacefully going about their day. We really enjoyed the veranda whether it was having breakfast in the morning or enjoying a glass of wine in the evening.
The wonderful log burner makes the flat warm and cosy, even better when sitting on the comfortable sofa watching the day slowly dim to night. One night we were very lucky to have a clear sky where we spent at least half an hour enjoying the millions of stars overhead, there was no light pollution so we could see everything... including the odd bat swoosh by!
The cabin was comfortable and luxurious you could happily spend a long weekend there without leaving, however if you wanted to it is also perfectly located with a short drive to some wonderful beaches, walks and towns.
We will definitely be returning again.

“Lovely, homely stay”
Reviewed 16 March 2016 for a stay in February 2016

The lodge was comfortable and homely within a 5 minute drive from the small town centre. The log fire made the cabin extremely cosy and homely. The beds were exceptional and mattresses and quilts so comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay here and would return.
