“A perfect break.”

We were warmly welcomed by Steve and Pippa on arrival. The accommodation was clean and comfortable with high quality facilities including crockery utensils and cooking facilities. The famous banana bread was amazing! We had our own cycles but the owners' own cycles were also available. A fantastic, quiet location just a twenty minute stroll from St Davids. We enjoyed our time at the cottage as well as our leisurely walks and cycle rides. There is so much history in the area from the Early Saints, through the Middle Ages up to the Second World War. We reluctantly left at the end of our stay having fully relaxed. Diolch yn fawr iawn Pippa a Steve.

“Comfortable, clean and convenient for hiking!”

Many one-bedroom places seem a little on the small side, and while Bwthyn Dowrog is not vast, it has a lovely large space split into kitchen/diner and lounge, as well as a decent-sized bedroom.
We were very fortunate in that the weather was beautiful, so we were able to make the most of the surrounding countryside, but it would have been no hardship to have had to stay "home" for a rainy day.
Our hosts were welcoming without being intrusive, and the surroundings are absolutely lovely.
Highly recommended as a base for coastal walks - it's close enough to the coast in several directions to give you plenty of options.

“Great Cottage in a lovely location”

Went for a few days relaxed walking, the cottage was a great base to explore the stunning coastal path around St David's Head. The cottage was very comfortable and fairly well equipped - the homemade banana bread & milk in the fridge were very welcome. There are lots of places to eat in the area, although they involve a walk into town or a short car ride. If you plan to cook & eat at the cottage there's a local supermarket and other shops. We were very lucky with the weather but if it was cold the cottage is warm & there's a wood burner. Only downside was that curtains in the bedroom are lightweight so at this time of year the sun shone through from quite early - good if you're early risers, less so for sleepyheads!

Thanks for letting us know about the rather too early awakening! We have now put a black out blind behind the curtains and hopefully that means the light sensitive sleeper will get a good lie in. And Steve has got the knife sharpener out to deal with the kitchen knives.

“Lovely spacious cottage with everything you need for a relaxing break”

We arrived late to the the cottage, but Pippa had left the keys in the door for us so got in no trouble. Driving directions were very helpful and we didn't have any problems finding the cottage. We arrived to a freshly baked banana bread and milk - a lovely touch. There was a very helpful guide to local walks etc along with all the info on the cottage.

The cottage itself was beautifully refurbished; modern amenities but with a cozy cottage feel. Had everything we needed plus more (tv, dvd, coffee machine and even a washing machine). The whole place was very clean with plenty of towels and also some tea bags etc for when we arrived. It was very spacious with a large open plan kitchen and living room, plus a step down to the bedroom and bathroom. It was quiet and felt very private.

The location was great; only a short drive to St David, but also very central for exploring wider along the coast and around the national park.

One night we were there it rained very heavily, which unfortunately flooded the bathroom slightly. Pippa was very swift to help with loads of towels and we couldn't fault anything with how they managed the situation. Hopefully this wasn't too costly to fix!

Overall a really lovely and relaxing break, and would recommend this as a great place to stay :)

Thank you so much for your kind review - its nice to know we get it right even in the wettest weather! The flooding problem was solved by two men and much coffee to work out what the problem was (quite simple to solve in the end) and despite a couple more downpours the bathroom has come through unscathed!

We stayed in the lovely little cottage which was very clean and had all we needed included a full kitchen, TV. internet, DVD. The location is very good - just a 5 minute drive to St David and Whitesands beach but feels quite peaceful and rural. The garden is very good too and perfect if you have dogs. Overall this is very nice place to stay and good value
