We stayed here for one night. Nice welcome and the room, while a little small was well appointed. No view other than buildings. Our bathroom was large. Free water and a tea tray with biscuits. Cheaper and more charming than a Premier Inn or Travelodge. Tight on parking though so good luck!

Great Wetherspoons Hotel loads to do, or not, something for everyone - very busy as bank holiday and quite lively on the night we stayed in neighbouring pubs but nice atmosphere in the castle definitely recommend - staff on reception lovely and welcoming

Three family members stopped over for a midweek spring break in North Wales. We regularly stop over in Wetherspoon hotels which we usually find excellent and good value, and this was no exception. Situated in the centre of sleepy Ruthin it had a handy rear car park and easy access to all roads leading out of town. Our two rooms were of high standard and spacious, and next to each other as we had requested. They were clean and well serviced except for the 'bed scarf' which had obviously not been cleaned for a long time. We just placed it on the floor as we often do, -Wetherspoon, please get rid of these as they let your rooms down. Bar & food service was great, and as we have come to expect from Wetherspoon the staff were extremely efficient, pleasant and attentive. Staff are always under pressure in Wetherspoon but we always feel that 'customers come first' and again staff here were no exception. Thank you all. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at The Castle and have no hesitation in recommending it.

Although bedroom decor on the dark side and a little gloomy the room was clean and spacious with comfy beds, excellent shower and good hospitality tray. Hotel centrally located in picturesque square. Bar and food prices very reasonable. Wide range of breakfast choices - my toasted bagel with crushed avocado was particularly enjoyable. Mainly young staff were competent but could benefit from a bit more customer awareness training. Overall an enjoyable stay and excellent value.

comfortable hotel in good location with great beer and food. Walking offas dyke, well received with ruck sacks. Bust pub but good service. Would stay again. Only puzzle is finding the hotel reception within the hotel.
