“The best value for money cottage anywhere”

My wife, 2 sons (14 and 11) and myself were greeted my the owner, Brian, on our arrival. He gave us a tour of the cottage and its facilities, giving us the opportunity to ask any questions. We were given an amazing welcome pack with tea, fresh coffee, soft drinks (our choice), Irish barm brack, fresh bread and a all the items for a full cooked breakfast. We also had the use of all Brian's condiments. How could you ask for more.

We found all the beds very comfortable and having 32" TVs in each bedroom was a big bonus. The TV in the lounge had Sky Sports so we were able to watch our team get beat. The 2 showers were both fantastic and we even got a set of towels each and a towelling dressing gown (Wow!). The kitchen was well equipped, a decent cooker, toaster, kettle, washing machine, pull out ironing board and even a dish washer. The dining table was set for us (very professionally) and the 3 piece suite in the lounge was very comfortable (my wife kept falling asleep).

Outside there is a fantastic garden with a barbecue and seating area and an abundance of butterflies. The view from the front was fantastic too, especially when the fighter jets were coming in to land at RAF Valley.

Locally there is a fantastic beach about 15 minutes walk away and just over the other side of the bridge from Valley is the gorgeous Penrhos country park with free parking, cafe, burger van and ice cream van. There are lots of picnic benches and lovely walks through the woods and a well hidden but amazing sandy beach with crystal clear water. There never seems to be more than a half a dozen families there and the odd dog walker. Well worth a visit.

Brian really has made his cottage a true home from home for his visitors and you couldn't be made more welcome or more comfortable.

“Beautiful Cottage & Surrounding Area”
Reviewed 24 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Friars Cottage was beautiful, very clean and spacious. could not fault any part of it. large sitting room, kitchen & dining area. good size bedrooms. Friars was equipped with everything you need and more Large tv in lounge and each bedroom and wifi available also. Very warm cottage and added bonus of open log fire if you like that. welcome pack from Brian was greatly appreciated we all enjoyed it, thank you Brian. Garden is beautiful along with patio area and BBQ if you want to use it. RAF Valley is near by which we all loved, watching the jets each day was brilliant. beaches are near by and very clean a lovely walk. shops are just a few minutes drive so everything is close at hand. Anglesey is a beautiful island and we enjoyed exploring all around it, south stack was beautiful with lighthouse so was church bay and Newborough. My son is registered blind and manage his way around the cottage very well. loved it all so much we are returning to Friars Cottage again in October, its already booked. you couldnt get a nicer place at such a reasonable cost anywhere else. i would recommend Friars to you, you will not be disappointed..

“Lovely cottage, great location”
Reviewed 19 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We had a lovely stay at Friars in July. We have a teen and 2 young children and the layout worked really well. No bedroom is next to the living room and it's all on one floor. The wifi and Sky TV was a real bonus for the kids. The cottage had everything we needed and was really comfy. The kitchen was a pleasure to cook in and so well equipped. Although the cottage is in a quiet area, there is a 24hr tesco 6 mins drive away to stock up on supplies. all the beaches and places to visit are in easy reach. Anglesey itself is just beautiful and perfect for a relaxing family holiday and we hope to visit again in the future.

“Wonderful cottage”
Reviewed 18 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We all had an amazing holiday in this lovely, well equipped cottage. There was plenty of room and it was cosy and relaxing. Wifi and sky kept our teenagers entertained when we weren't exploring the lovely beeches and countryside that was all within walking distance . The cottage owner was welcoming and couldn't do enough to make sure our stay was enjoyable and relaxing. We will be definitely returning to Friars in the future.

Set in a lovely position. We were met and shown round by Brian who was very welcoming and helpful. We found the cottage to be vey well equipped. We appreciated having plenty of crockery & cutlery as well as all the necessary "bits" which it's so easy to forget. The welcome pack was also very much appreciated.
There are some lovely walks in the area, and we found plenty of sandy beaches for the grandchildren. We would certainly like to return and explore Anglesey further.
