This is a lovely hotel. It faces the seafront and the front rooms have lovely views and are worth the little bit extra.
Room was spotlessly clean, well appointed and the bed was superbly comfortable.
Breakfast is very good quality and cooked to order with a good choice.
We spent our honeymoon here 40 years ago and this was our first trip back. Certainly won’t be our last.

This excellent positioned hotel is ideal for a holiday with great views of the distant mountains and nearby castle. The hotel was clean and served great food with friendly staff.I would have given excellent but my room number 34 had a issue with the bathroom. The glass shower panel was not very effective and as a result soaked the bathroom floor every time you took a shower.Otherwise I could not find anything to cause concern.

We had booked for two nights but the room was so dank and smelt we left a day early. They bed laundry was clean and the bed was comfortable but oh dear the room really let it down. We couldn’t face another night there. So if you like the feel good factor then don’t bother!
The staff were all friendly and the breakfast was good. Well cooked nice and hot and presented.
When we left we expected to pay for the duration of our stay but not for the newspaper which could easily have been cancelled! I did question the room as I had read a review that said it needed a re-vamp but when they sent some pics it didn’t look to bad. Believe me it is was!

We are so very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay here at the Caerwylan, we really would have liked you to have talked to us on departure so we could understand better what you thought the issues were. From what you told us, you were leaving early as your daughter was about to have a baby. We pride ourselves on cleanliness and friendliness so to hear a review like this really hits us hard.
When guests arrive, we put the newspapers on the bill for the duration of the visit, this must have been left on in error when you departed early. We would be happy to refund you £1.40 overcharge, just let us know a time that is suitable for us to call to do this. The photos that were taken are time stamped for the same day you requested them so it was a true reflection of the room, we are disappointed that the room did not meet your expectations.Once again we are really saddened to hear you did not enjoy your stay with us.

Kind Regards
Michael and Frances

Stayed 1 night, had a sea front room absolutely gorgeous. Breakfast was superb, staff very helpful. Will stay again next year. Rooms was very large, bar had plenty of choice of gins. Never been to Criccieth before small quaint village with pubs, restaurants. Well worth a visit

My wife and I stayed for just one night but that was long enough to appreciate how good this hotel is. When we arrived we were shown to our room on the first floor by a very pleasant and informative receptionist who made us feel very welcome. Our room had a large bay window giving views of the bay and the castle that were simply superb. The room was beautifully and tastefully decorated and furnished with two comfortable chairs positioned in front of the window. There was bottled water and fruit in the room, a small(ish) TV and more storage than you could possibly need. The bathroom was immaculate with high quality fittings and more space than I have seen in some double rooms.
We had dinner in the hotel and were in awe of the quality of the ingredients and the superb skills of the kitchen staff. The waiting staff at dinner and at breakfast were friendly and accommodating. The hotel is not cheap but nor is it expensive for what we got, a great room with a view, a fantastic evening meal and one of the best breakfasts ever. I give this hotel top marks and will definitely use it again, it is a gem.

Room Tip: The hotel’s website gives details of the rooms with views. The staff at reception will help you chose the best room for you.
