Nice food and pleasant service. The portion sizes were very generous, the children's portion fish and chips looked like a regular adults size to me.

Thank Sarah J

Service was great. Venue was great. Food was delicious. We all chose options from the specials board. The specials were surprisingly cheap and featured local meats. Very impressed.

Myself my Wife and our teenage Son called in at the Station for lunch on a Saturday afternoon.
Nice building with great decor. Friendly staff.
The three of us chose from the sandwich selection which came with chips, side salad and coleslaw. Added a cup of soup for an extra £2. Came to around £9 or £10 each. Quite expensive for the amount we had. Quite tasty apart from the chips which tasted like they had been cooked in oil that hadn’t been changed for a while?
Soup was nice, hot and spicy but unfortunately very watery. I don’t think that the coleslaw was homemade?
Biggest shock was the price of a pint of Heineken. £4.70 a pint!
I thought we were in Colwyn Bay?
Not London!

Four of us stopped here on Thursday evening having just done a 6 hour walk up one of the nearby mountains. Very few tables occupied. Seated quickly Discovered for ourselves that you had to order at the bar. Had to wait to order as staff seemed to be multitasking...seating people, serving drinks, serving food. Restaurant started to fill up and we waited, and waited and waited. People who had come in after us were served their food and still we waited. 30 mins after ordering we pointed out that we were still waiting for our food and that others had been served who came in after us. Waiter informed us that this was because some food took longer to cook. (we had all ordered beer battered fish and chips). After another 5 mins we asked how long our food would be. were told he would find out, but then he studiously avoided our table and refused to make eye contact as he passed by. 50 mins after ordering we informed a waitress that if our food was not out in 5 mins we would have to leave . Miraculously the food appeared. Was actually very tasty, but having waited so long we didn't have time to savour it as a) we were so hungry and b) we still had a 70 mile journey ahead of us and needed to crack on. Having initially decided we would have the early bird menu of 2 courses for £13;50 we opted to pass on the desserts which was a shame as they did look tasty. On paying,we were pleasantly surprised by the courteous apology from the person who appeared to be in charge who without asking deducted 10% off the bill as a gesture because of our long wait. So the station had redeemed itself. Food was good. Is obviously a popular place given the number of diners but could do with more staff both front of house and in kitchen judging by our experience.

We eat at the station every Friday with the kids. The staff are lovely and very helpful and the food is always top quality. They regularly change the specials so even though we go every week there is always something new. The curry’s are a favourite of mine too. I highly recommend this please.
