Review of Prince of Wales

Prince of Wales
Ranked #10 of 34 Restaurants in Aberaeron
Price range: USD 5 - USD 21
Description: We are a family run pub/restaurant. We are located on a side street so not easily spotted but hunt us out and you will not regret it. We offer a daytime light bites menu, children's menu and a reasonably priced full menu. We have a large airy dining room, cosy snug and bar area. We have a pool table and two dart boards. We are family friendly and dogs are welcome in the bar area. We offer a takeaway option and have hot beverages available for drinking in our cosy bar area, or as a takeaway option. We also have a lovely big room which are ideal for children's parties and private functions. We also have a lovely sunny, secluded beer garden for those lazy summer days. I'm sure you'll agree that we are well worth a visit and myself and Stephen look forward to meeting you.

We visited for lunch. A very warm welcome from all staff on a very cold day. Great selection and very good value. For lunch, the Lite Bites section of menu has lots of offerings at great value. Really enjoyed the sausages and chips--delicious sausages. Another friend liked the fish and chips, and another enjoyed the scampi. Perfect portion sizes for lunch. Will definitely return.

The Landlords, Steve and Michelle are great supporters of The Wales Air Ambulance and regularly fundraise for the charity. Some of the volunteers suggested the Prince as a good venue so 15 volunteers attended the lunch.
We were warmly welcomed and sat at tables for four in a row/ the tables were very Christmassy with crackers to pull to break the ice. Only three had ordered starters which arrived quickly. Half the group had ordered beef and half the turkey. Ample portions arrived with an array of fresh vegetables- new potatoes, roast potatoes, sprouts, parsnips, carrots, swedes, peas, sage and onion stuffing for the turkey and, of course the 'pigs in blankets'
Everything was cooked to perfection with plenty of beef or turkey gravy- delicious!
I had the Christmas Pudding with Brandy sauce, which was excellent! The same comments came for the Bailey's Cheesecake and Strawberry Trifle. To end we were given mince pies which was a nice touch.
Great food, excellent service and good people- highly recommended!

We visited here with our dog and were made very welcome. We had a Sunday roast but a full menu was available. Staff and locals very friendly.
It is definitely a real pub so if you want a modern designer pub go elsewhere.
We were only visiting the area so in reality will not visit again but most certainly will do if we get back there.
Note that it looks like quite a few pubs in the area zre now closed

I'm afraid to say the food was very basic and so is the surroundings. All served with a bit of salad with bullet peas. We wished we would have had fish and chips. Beer was also disappointing.

I'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed with our peas and our surroundings. As you can see our pub is very old and has kept its traditional features throughout the bar and snug. Our dining room is more modern and I'm sorry that we were unable to seat you and your family there but we were full. As for our BASIC menu we have tried to keep our menu quite conventional which I am sure you will see reflected in our prices.
