The house was stunning and a perfect location for us as we have a 6 year old and a baby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Aberaeron is a must to visit.
The owner Clive was very nice to communicate with, answered all questions promptly.
I would of given 5 star if the accommodation was pet free but is perfect if you do wish to take a pet.
If Clive would have us we would return. Thank you
Stayed for 5 nights over the Christmas period. The house was clean, comfortable and warm! It is equipped with everything you need and the owner had left a bottle of wine and some chocolates which was a nice touch. The location is great, right in Aberaeron town centre, overlooking Alban Square playing field. The only drawback is the lack of parking, limited between 9am and 6pm to one hour with no return in the hour, however, just around the corner, opposite the Feathers Hotel there are three unlimited parking bays which was useful!
This is advertised as accommodating six people but this would be a squeeze. There were four adults and one small child in our party and the small living room was very full. The seating itself wouldn't stretch to six people. There is a very large fireplace which looks as if it should have had a log burner or something similar as a focal point. As it was, this was a bit of a bleak space.
We felt the property was possibly in a bit of a transition period as there were no hooks in the lobby area to hang outdoor coats etc. This would have been a real problem in wet weather. As it was, we ended up using the small dining room as the 'cloakroom'.
Likewise, there are no wardrobes in any of the bedrooms. We couldn't open the sash window in the master bedroom nor in the bathroom (this is clearly a bit of a long-standing problem as there was black mould on this window frame). The bathroom radiator didn't appear to be working and there was no fixed mirror in there.
Re: the kitchen, there was no cafetiere or teapot provided. There is a very good filter coffee machine but unfortunately, there were no coffee filter papers and none to be found in Aberaeron. A good large frying pan would also be welcome. There were no cleaning/dishcloths and only one black bin bag. An information folder with details of refuse collection and emergency numbers would have been useful and reassuring.
The owner was excellent at responding to our requests for a Christmas Tree and also left chocolates and a lovely bottle of wine to welcome us.
This is potentially a lovely place to stay but needs a bit of 'snagging time' to get things right. I would say that it accommodates no more than five comfortably.
We expected this to be quite 'high-end', given the cost of a week's stay (I do realise it can be premium rates at Christmas and New Year), but it can't honestly be described as that....at least not quite yet.
A wonderful find in the heart of Aberaeron. With a great central location, the ambiance of the property was felt on arrival. The rooms were all perfect for our needs and suited every requirement from a well equiped kitchen for the cook to sky TV for the men folk. The bedrooms were lovely too. Very clean and well kept throughout with attention to every aspect of a perfect stay. I would move in to this property if I could - loved it from start to finish.
