Really central location. Each room decorated in a very individual style. A self contained suite with good kitchen facilities. Opposite the famous Peabody hotel so you can pop over for the duck parade at 5pm. A big thank you to Jerry who advised us on the best places to eat, the music bars etc.

Room Tip: The room with the grand piano is good fun if you can play.

My husband and I stayed at the Talbot Heir Guesthouse with friends from England earlier this month. Our rooms were perfect - comfortable, roomy, well-appointed, with charming decor. The location could not have been better. But the secret ingredient is Sharon M., the fantastic hostess/manager, who is amazingly helpful, welcoming, knowledgeable about the area, good-humored and strong. We had been traveling for several days and met many wonderful people but Sharon epitomizes hospitality. I will urge anyone going to Memphis to stay at Talbot Heirs.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are comfortable, roomy and interesting.

Gorgeous individually designed suite hotel/guesthouse, on a street with many bars and restaurants. It is within an easy stroll of Beale Street music and the ducks (and great cocktails) at the Peabody. Also well place for Sun Studios and the Civil Rights Museum ( both also highly recommended ). Manager Jerry was warm, friendly and very helpful ,and will direct you around to the top spots. If you are lucky some of the other suites may be available and you can get a peek at the suites used by the 'A' listers.

Stayed for 3 nights in suite 5. We had a great welcome from Sharon who came to meet us as we were pulling up in a taxi. She gave us lots of information about Memphis, including restaurants, and she made us feel at home.

We thought the room was very large with a large comfy bed and lots of sofas and chairs. It was handy to have kitchen facilities, especially as we were provided with some basic provisions such as tea, coffee, milk, juice, cereals etc, so we could make ourselves a light breakfast or a coffee when returning later in the day.

Great location in downtown Memphis, across the road from the Peabody Hotel and a short walk to Beale Street and restaurants and bars.

We had to leave very early to get the Amtrak train to our next destination. Sharon organised a taxi for us and was even around at 6am to help us with our bags and ensure we got on our way. Couldn't ask for more.

Would recommend to those wanting a more relaxed and homely stay in Memphis.

Chose this place as somewhere central to stay in Memphis. Really great place! Each lodging is spacious and consists of either a living room with kitchen area and separate bedroom/ bathroom, or in some the bedroom and living room are merged into one. All lodgings are nicely furnished and have a breakfast bar. Our bathroom was really beautifully done. Kitchen was equipped with cooker, dishwasher, microwave, large fridge and sink.
They supplied cereals, milk, oj, tea, coffee, pretzels and biscotti, which was restocked every day.
We had one tv in the lounge and one in the bedroom.
The bed was very comfortable though not as wide as some American beds. There was a little noise from people talking in the alleyway but it didn't disturb our sleep.
Location is great - opposite the Peabody right downtown. Close to Beale Street and walking distance to restaurants, bars and civil rights museum.
On arrival stop right outside the Talbot Heirs in the loading area to get your luggage out (look out for the Flying Fish restaurant sign, the Talbot Heirs is right next to it). If you have pre-booked parking with Talbot Heirs they will then issue you with a parking ticket for the nearby multi-storey car park.
Management lives on-site is always available for any issues.
Really great place, would highly recommend!
