The Westin's bed was the best part of our recent stay but at 200.00 a night it should be .the shower leaked water all over the floor where you get out onto the tile floor, the coffee pot may work but they give u a coffee filter bag for a pot size coffee maker and its a single serve maker u cant even drink it u would think they could afford a keurig ,after u pay to stay there then u half to pay for your car to stay there also at 18 dollars a day.and to top our fantastic stay they charged me $3.28 for a .25 bottle of water that we never drank called them they said they would remove the charge but never did . taxes where about another 50.00 a night so becareful that 200.00 dollar room cost me about 270.00 a day and burger king gives you free wifi but they charge you we would not stay there again but we had a good time on beale street

Room Tip: stay at the peabody

Well lets start wtih the positve things: GREAT location, clean rooms, quiet rooms, nice bathrooms, very comfy beds.

The downside: Check in was at 3 or 4, I don't remember which, we arrived at 4:45 after being on the road for 8 hours and we were ready for a shower and dinner. Once we stood in line for 15 minutes to check in, we were, told there were no rooms clean at this point as they had allowed the basketball team a late checkout. I asked how long it would be and she refused to estimate only saying they would check our luggage and call us once our room was ready. Asked if any compensation for the inconvenience, NO.

We decided to forego showers and walked to Beale, again, location of this hotel cannot be beat. We had dinner on Beale, no phone calls by 6:45pm as to whether our room was ready so we walked back, waited in line AGAIN to "recheck" in and our room was ready at that point. No phone call? No offer of compensation? What makes management of this property think its OK for 30 plus families to wait for a room so basketball team can have a late checkout, utterly ridiculous! There were lots of angry people in and around the lobby.

My next trip I will stay at the Peabody as I was impressed when visiting it and have not ready any reviews like these....its not as great a location but not bad at all. When check in at a hotel is 4:00 pm I expect to have a room by 4:00 pm, the fact that NBA players wanted to sleep in is NOT my problem. They should've booked their room for addt'l nights!

I am a resident of Memphis. However, my wife and I were having some remodeling done to our house over a weekend and decided to stay downtown at the Westin. I have actually stayed at most of the hotels downtown that are considered luxury, i.e. the Peabody and the Madison. The Westin is by far nicer and roomier than the other two. Room service was good and the restaurant downstairs was fair. We splurged on a suite and it was perfect with its floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Fed Ex Forum. It was perfect. Again, this is the only hotel I would recommend friends, family, or clients to stay in Memphis. Also, there is a Starbucks in the lobby.

We stayed one night at the Westin for a downtown wedding. The location is great!
The rooms are not huge, but do have high ceilings which gives the feeling of more space. The bathrooms are very large with a separate tub and shower. The bed was of course, heavenly!!!

There were some nice touches in the room such as Starbucks coffee for the coffee maker and robes in the room.

Some cons were that the rooms are not very quiet, there is a charge for Internet and parking.

I would tell anyone going to Memphis that this is the place to stay. The staff was friendly, rooms very clean and it was in a great location. We couldn't have stayed at a better place!
