“Very, very special place”
Reviewed 2 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Gorgeous self-catered stone cottages right on Loch Earn. Proprietors, Fraser and Kim Proven are delightful. The Lochearnhead Highland games are a short walk down the road and lots of water activities on the loch. Stunning views and picturesque historical sites abound in the area. Hiking, biking opportunities are everywhere. Loved it.

Thank you for your kind words. We are delighted that you enjoyed Briar Steading and The BLS Highland Games in Lochearnhead, especially having travelled all the way from the USA to attend and meet McLaren kinsmen. Loch Earn does offer a pretty view in different colours and light all year round and we are lucky to have a garden on the water's edge. We hope that you will return again some day either for the Highland Games or to experience a different season. Our very best wishes, Kim and Fraser

“What a view!”
Reviewed 5 May 2014 for a stay in April 2014

What a wonderful stay we had in Little Briar, the location is perfect for exploring local history, villages, towns. Both mobile signal and wifi are very good. The cottage was beautifully clean and warm. There are a number of good restaurants nearby, a local taxi service and a variety of walks to suit all abilities. Kim and Fraser are knowledgable and generous hosts and we were delighted to spend some time with them in their summer house right on the lochside. As with the previous reviews we saw an abundance of wildlife. Don't forget binoculars! The gardens are kept beautifully and I was particularly impressed with Fraser's ability of getting a striped lawn up the hillside ;). Hope the ducklings are doing ok. Till we meet again xx

Thank you very much for sharing your experience of Little Briar Cottage. Fraser was delighted that you noticed his pride and joy striped lawn and that you enjoyed the gardens that he looks after. We are very lucky to share the gardens and area with wildlife and it is great that you spotted a few of the birds and creatures that appear here in Spring. We also enjoyed the loch garden chat and look forward to welcoming you back. Best Wishes for a great Summer, Kim and Fraser

“Complete holiday break in excellent accommodation”
Reviewed 30 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

Fabulous cottage with views to die for! Why get off the leather sofa when you can see gorgeous scenery and Ospreys diving into the lake outside your window. Day trips to Glencoe and Loch Lomond and the wonderful Crannog Centrre at Loch Tay were just a few of the highlights of our visit. A must is the delicious food at Mhor 84, a 10 min drive away. Our third visit and we are still enjoying every minute.

We are delighted that you enjoyed the views of Loch Earn from Briar Steading's full length glass windows and doors and that you saw the ospreys. Thank you for sharing great advice on places to visit and things to do. The Scottish Crannog Centre is a unique experience with a scenic drive from Lochearnhead, along Loch Tay to Kenmore. The story teller helps to transport you back in time anywhere from 5000 years ago to the 17th century. Thank you for returning to Briar Steading again.

“A room with a stunning ever changing view”
Reviewed 28 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Just come back from a great 5 night break staying at Briar Cottage. What a beautiful cottage with fantastic ever changing Loch views. Definitely one of the best cottage holidays we have had in Scotland. Great walking and cycling including a couple of tea and cake stops at Mhor 84. Thanks to Kim and Fraser for making us feel ever so welcome and we'll miss our morning and evening visits by the resident ducks! Thank you!

Thank you for your kind comments and for sharing your experience in and around Briar Cottages. We are delighted that you enjoyed staying in Briar Steading. It was great to hear your stories about cycling on National cycle route 7 nearby and other routes within our National Park. The mallards are comical. The ladies are nesting just now and before long, 10 to 12 ducklings will be brought to us for food. The ospreys are back on Loch Earn so spring is definitely here. Thank you again and we hope to see you again some time. Kindest Wishes, Kim and Fraser.

“Amazing”
Reviewed 22 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We couldn't have wished for a more perfect location or luxury cottage. Stayed in Briar Steading and the owners Kim & Fraser are the most amazing people. Beautiful cottage with everything you needed, sky tv with sky sports and lovely log burning fire for those cosy nights. Views were out of this world, summer house on the loch and free fishing, loved the little ducks who made friends with us especially Peggy. Perfect base for days out and you don't need to travel far to see the best of Scotland. Only a short drive to visit Rob Roy's grave and Glencoe is definitely a place to visit for awesome scenery and beauty. Will definitely be booking this cottage again and will look forward to meeting Kim & Fraser again. If you are looking for a cottage holiday in Scotland then this is the one. Enjoy:)

We are delighted that you enjoyed your experience of Briar Steading and the garden on Loch Earn and thank you for your kind comments. Many of Scotland's attractions - like Rob Roy's gravestone within Balquhidder Kirk yard and Glencoe - are within an easy drive from Lochearnhead. Glencoe is a truly magical place that attracts visitors in all seasons for, touring, walking, deer spotting and skiing. Balquhidder Church where Rob Roy is buried, attracts many visitors from all over the world including members of clans MacGregor, McLaren, Ferguson and other ancient local clansmen. We would love to see you back here again entering into the spirit of Briar Cottages and appreciate the time that you took to share your thoughts with others. Best wishes Kim and Fraser
