First impression was that this was high standard, very clean and well organised. Hot tub outside was actually a suprisingly nice way to spend an afternoon in the rain with a 5yr old and 1yr old both loving it (temperature 37-38 degrees was perfect).
Good points continue with their location (pub across the road starts serving evening meals at 6pm, but is good food/ambiance) Killin has more places to eat, Auchingarrich wildlife centre about 40min drive a really good day out. Aberfeldy also 40minutes, walking range of Ben Lawers 20min away (where we had an amazing time because of all the snow - helped by our 4x4 to get there though!). Excellent communication, cot, high chair etc.
Bad points (minor) - the lodge was marginally too hot for us, which we thought felt a bit wrong, our bathroom was at 24 degrees?!, and recycling of things is minimal (bottle bank only). Would be nice to be a bit more "eco". Could do with more crockery, especially bowls (there were only 4) to save washing up.
But whatever an amazing place, enjoy it all.
Came to the lodge in need of a break. The lodge did not disappoint.
The place was spotless and under floor heating meant no socks were needed lol.
Hot tub at night with a glass of bubbly went down a treat. Hotel across the road was excellent as was the little village of Killin which was a nice 1 mile stroll.
Just spent weekend with family at lodges in Killin celebrating 60th birthdays of my husband & me. Lodges are of very high standard with everything that you need and beautiful views, will certainly be back.
Stayed here with my wife and 2 teenage kids for 3 nights.
We've never stayed in a lodge before, always hotels/guest houses, but we will def be back. This is new, modern, hi-spec accommodation, which is cosy and well presented with lots of space and the 2 bathrooms are ideal when travelling with kids.
The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need, meaning we could eat in most of the time. The hot tub was the icing on the cake! We ate at the Killin Hotel one night and received 10% discount off our food due to being a resident in one of the lodges. Some times people think these type of luxury lodges are expensive, but if you take your food & drink with you, id say it works our cheaper than say 3 nights dinner, bed & breakfast at a 4 or 5 star hotel would, plus youve more space and its less formal and restrictive.
We will def return again, hopefully next year.
