What a fantastic place and run by the most congenial of people. We couldn't have been made too feel more welcome or more at home and the setting...it's beautiful until the sun comes out... and then it is absolutely stunning.
There is so much to do locally and every morning when you have breakfast and every evening when your return the loch, the mountains and the birds are there to greet you.
We had the most fantastic week and cannot recommend Morenish Mews more highly, and if your driving make sure you take the road from the Bridge of Balgie to Aberfeldy.
Morenish Mews is somewhere very special. it has been like staying for a week in our very own (very comfortable) bird hide, and dining at the best table at a lochside restaurant. Killin cottage is very cosy, immaculately clean and well equipped, very big fluffy towels. We were greeted by the owners Ken and Catherine who provided a wealth of information and they had left us a lovely basket of locally produced treats. The location and wildlife are spectacular. Birds constantly visited the feeders outside the window and the garden, including a woodpecker and a heron nearly every day. Within a short drive there are Munros to climb, Ben Lawers and Meall nan Tarmachan, cycle rides Killin to Callendar on Sustrans route 7 and kayaking on the loch and river. This is a lovely place to return to each day after an active day in the hills. The only minor downside because of the location is that you have to drive to the nearest shop, bar or restaurant.
We stayed in the Killin Cottage for a week. The collage is good: cosy and comfortable. There are a lot of nice walks in de neighbourhood, Ken and Catherine are willing to tell you about them and to provide additional maps and tips. They are great hosts!
We had a friendly and helpful welcome when we arrived at Morenish Mews and soon found that was Ken and Catherine's consistent style.
Killin Cottage is one half of lovely cabin/lodge style accommodation which was really well-equipped (especially the kitchen), and you could tell a lot of thought has gone into their hosting over the years. Daily weather updates, and extras like a laundry service, plus advice and tips, the loan of a hiking stick etc all helped us have a great stay.
The setting is so beautiful,it was a pleasure just to sit and look out of the window at the view and the birds and animals, but also lovely to walk in the garden/grounds and down to the loch shore. And a great centre for visiting areas around Loch Tay and further afield. We clocked up a lot of miles and took a lot of photos and drank in some beautiful sights on our walks and drives.
We also appreciated all the eco/green strategies in place at Morenish Mews. In a beautiful area like the Highlands the desire to live lightly on the earth is sharpened, so it's good to be helped to do that.

The accommodation was as described and very suitable for a couple. Location was ideal for visiting the Munroes.
