Popped in for an evening meal, my partner ordered the macaroni, I went for the fish & chips, both where of an incredibly high standard, we where offered dessert, feeling quite full we went for one sticky toffee pudding to share, the best we’ve ever had, but special mention goes to the Italian vanilla ice cream, sublime, so good we ordered another dessert and we’re given double ice cream, utterly wonderful.

Firstly I need to point out that this is only a review of the takeaway service as we did not eat in.
We were staying in a basic wigwam with only basic cooking equipment (kettle/microwave/fridge).
We also had our dog with us. Rather than make simple food or eat out leaving the dog alone we decided to get a takeaway from the Bistro. We were happy with the menu choices. We called down to order (the site is actually quite big with the Bistro right at the bottom of the hill) and were told it would be 15-20mins. Long story short it took 45mins in total, which would have been okay if we'd been warned but I drove down to collect the food and resented the extra 25mins of boredom while getting hangry.
When (eventually) back to the cabin I was of the opinion that 'it better be worth it' but unfortunately it was distinctly average. The macaroni cheese was swimming in the thin sauce and had already gotten cold in the short drive back. The fries weren't crisp and would really have benefited from some seasoning. We weren't offered any salt, pepper or condiments when we got our food. To be fair I forgot to ask but had I been promoted it would have made the food more palatable.
The chicken with chorizo was quite nice and as it was served in a tin dish it retained much of its heat.
To summarise although we will stay there again we won't be ordering takeaway pasta from the Bistro again. We would consider eating in or trying the takeaway pizza.

We booked the bistro for our evening meal during our three night stay in the lodges. Beautiful setting overlooking Loch Tay. A good choice of dishes on the menu to suit everyone's taste. Our main course arrived quickly after ordering which everyone enjoyed. A bit disappointed in our dessert service. Sweets arrived intermittently with us eventually having to ask for the remaining 4 dishes. Waitress was very apologetic at delay.
Overall a nice meal in lovely surroundings.
