Only stayed 2 nights as this was leg 1 of 3 of a short trip around the loch. Was in two minds about self catering as wasn't sure how close by the local amenities were but we shouldn't have been worried. There's a large Co-Op a short drive away. Apart from good quality toiletries and towels, the "starter pack" included waffles, milk, tea, coffee, chocolates and a welcome bottle of chilled wine.
Spotlessly clean with comfy bed and bath if you prefer rather than shower.. Dishwasher and washing machine in kitchen with washer tablets and washing powder. All utensils including cafetierre and ground coffee. Wi Fi not working due to router problem but was assured this was in hand. 4g signal fine. Sky TV.
Short walk in evening to nice bar with good quality pub / restaurant food.
Nice welcome from Jeff on arrival who spent time giving information on local area but otherwise left us to it but remained available.
Only one thing I would suggest to Jeff to improve ( and Im being picky) is the mats leading to front door. They have had their day and need replacing- first impressions!!- But as you walk through the door all is forgotten.
Rented both apartments for 2 nights on 7th and 8th April while attending a Wedding at The Cruin, which is a 5 minute walk away.
The upstairs loft apartment is the bigger apartment with 2 shower rooms, a bath in the bedroom, fully appointed kitchen and a lounge area with table a chairs. The ground floor apartment is smaller, but still a good size, with fully appointed kitchen with a small table and chairs for 2, good sized bedroom with a table and sofa and a large bathroom with large walk in shower. Both apartment were spotlessly clean and the decor was lovely.
Everything you need is provided, tea, coffee, a little pack of biscuits, a little pack of chocolates by your bed and in the fridge was milk, a bottle of water and a bottle of wine, very generous. I also thought the little basket of magazines was a lovely touch. Do have a look in all the cupboards as you will find shower gels and other little things that may be of use to you.
The little gazebo in the garden is so nice. Sat there with a cuppa and a magazine on Saturday afternoon watching the boats go by, such a lovely view.
It's within walking distance of Duck Bay Marina where we had a lovely dinner on Saturday night and Cameron House.
Bridie & Jeff the owners stay in the cottage next door and are always on hand to help if needed. They were kind enough to allow us an early check in and and late check out.
We were a little concerned at first that we would hear a lot of noise from the busy main road that the apartments back on to but we need not have worried as it was very quiet during the night and we all slept well.
I would definitely recommend and definitely go back when in need of a break away not too far from home.
Stayed at Bruach Lodge from 18th to 21st March. Everything perfect and exactly as described. Great location with fabulous views of the Loch but also only a short drive to all the essential amenities. Lovely restaurant and bar Duck Bay a ten minute walk away(safe to walk to in the evening). Apartment was warm and spotlessly clean with everything that you could need. Sky Sports and Sky Movies were a great little bonus for tired evenings after long days of walking. Owners very friendly and welcoming (but not at all intrusive) and happy to make recommendations regarding local area. Lovely touch receiving complimentary bottle of wine and essentials for our stay on arrival. Will definitely stay here again upon our return.
We booked this lodge as part of a friends birthday weekend away. It is a short distance away from Cameron house.
On arrival we were greeted by one of the owners who showed us to the lodge, we paid him cash (chip and pin wasnt an option - which was fine as they emailed us with plenty of notice beforehand to let us know that was the case). He didnt hang around for longer than we needed him and left us to settle in ourselves.
The lodge is very nice and finished to a high standard. It is like everything has been thought out carefully and has its own place. On arrival the fridge was stocked with a litre of milk, there was also chocolates for us and a bottle of wine which was a very nice touch.
Over the course of the weekend, we went for walks around the loch and went back and forth to balloch 2 times a day. This was absolutely fine. Took maybe 35 minutes in all which when you have the stunning views of the loch, isn't cumbersome at all.
The lodge was warm which the heating on and very cosy on cold February nights. The bed is one of the comfiest beds i have probably ever slept in. I was tempted to steal it.
I could go on and on about other amazing features of this little gem, but i won't. Go book and experience it for yourself. Worth the money, you will love it.
My husband and I wanted a few days away to chill out after a busy year. We decided on Loch Lomond and found this wonderful place. It was our first visit here and we were absolutely delighted with it. The views alone are worth a visit to the area but Bruach Lodge itself is simply stunning. We had the upstairs loft apartment which has a living area, perfectly formed kitchen and 2 bathrooms with showers. Leaving the best to last, the bedroom has a wonderful free standing bath which used a lot during our stay. It is just so relaxing, especially using the bath soak provided by the owners. Everything you would need is provided - kitchen utensils, towels, beautiful toiletries and linen. Also, the owners Bridie and Jeff had left a lovely welcome pack which was much appreciated. Wine, milk, tea, coffee, bottled water, biscuits, Belgian waffles and a wee box of chocolates. The owners are so helpful but not overbearing. They are nearby if you need anything at all. We wouldn't hesitate to visit again and would definetly recommend to anyone. We had a wonderful, relaxing 3 day stay.
