We drove 7hrs round trip to Bute on Easter day to visit this highly recommended place!
Arrived on ferry without a booking never thought they would be so busy. Every table full including people outside. It was a gorgeous day so the four of us and small dog sat outside on the very comfortable roofed terrace.
Location, staff, service, setting, music, wine and food absolutely perfect! It was worth the 7hour journey. I highly recommend this place, food very fresh all four of us had different dishes and all cleared our plates....don't leave without trying the desert shared platter for two... It's heaven!
Fab area for walking it off, very dog friendly indoors and out (plenty fresh water for dogs available)
Ate on Bute a few times in the past but nothing compares to this place!
Love that it's dog friendly.
Hope to return in June.

Simply the best
I have stayed on many occasions at the Kingarth while on holiday in Bute. Always my number one choice.
A modern and stylish hotel tastefully decorated. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable.
The full Scottish breakfast will keep you going all day, and there is an all day menu from which you can choose from a wide variety of very high quality meals served to the highest standard. You think you've just had the perfect dinner but it just gets better and better.
The staff all work well together and you are made to feel welcome like one of the family.
Nothing is ever a problem.
I look forward to my next holiday and stay with the Kingarth an altogether wonderful experience.

Took a drive to the Kingarth as harry haws in town didn’t want anymore customers at 7pm on a Monday night.

Got to Kingarth which was full & was welcomed to the only spare table by very friendly staff.

Quick & efficient service with an amazing specials board which included a Bute beef traditional roast. Great Goats cheese starter then lovely roast with friendly service. Highly recommended.

Good quality food for a pub. Rarely had a poor meal here. Can be slow if its busy... shame they don't seem to light the fire so much these days!
