Held our wedding reception here on December 29th 2010 and were absolutely delighted with the service. All of our 60+ guests were amazed with the quality of the meals, the chef really is top drawer. Some of our guests (well travelled ones) even commented the food and the rooms were the best they had ever experienced or stayed in. Of the rooms I saw where we and our families were staying, the modern ones in the stables were the pick of the bunch.. really stunning but even the tradtional rooms in the main house have been refurnished (as much as is possible without rebuilding!). All very roomy and worthy of boutique status.

First class all in all, a different league since the reviews that are clearly before the renovations and a credit to Old Meldrum and Inverurie... only sorry I couldnt get a game of golf because of the snow...

We stayed 2 nights at the hotel as we had been invited to a wedding. I got an excellent deal for the Friday night off their website though I had to book Saturday night through the bride and groom so payed a higher rate. From arriving to leaving, we were looked after by the hotel's professional and extremely efficient staff. Nothing was too much trouble. They even cleared the snow off our windscreen! The wedding breakfast and all our other meals in the hotel were as good as any we have ever had. The room was big with an enormous bed and everything was top quality. If it wasn't so far from home, we would certainly go back for a longer stay, though possibly when the roads were clear from snow!

This hotel is first class. We were looking for a romantic getaway and wished we could have stayed longer. The public rooms and the bedroom and bathroom all looked fresh, clean and in keeping with the style of the gorgeous property.
The service in the bar and the restaurant were excellent.
Could not fault it at all - only hiccup was the weather and I guess there was nothing they could do about that - they did light the fire in the foyer though to keep the chill off.
Highly recommend. Oh, and the bedrooms were absolutely massive.

Stayed for just one night in a sup.room at the stables. Our room was spacious, well decorated with a really large bathroom: big walk-in-shower and underfloor heating, fluffy towels and bathrobes. Mind that there is an uncovered walkway to the main building + restaurant. Didnt have a problem, but it wasn´t raining. We really enjoyed the atmosphere at the hotel with fireplaces and lots of antiques. We had a drink in the cosy bar before dinner and a pleasant meal. Food was good and well prepared, service friendly. Next morning we had some time to kill before our flight home, so we went to the lounge with newspapers - they even offered to light the fireplace for us (it was a nice sunny day). This is really great service. The golf course looked great, so we will be back for a round of golf. Next time we´ll book a room in the main building - they must be very nice with 4-poster beds. We did have a very pleasant stay in this quiet hotel - it is not just for one night as a stop-over for the airport.

I got a great price on their website and wasn"t expecting much; we needed somewhere to stay outside Aberdeen and near the airport after arriving on an evening flight. The hotel was a fantastic surprise. We had a room in the main house, which is really a small castle now surrounded by a very elegant looking golf course. The room was huge with high ceilings and tastefully decorated with antiques. As we were late arriving, the restaurant was closed but they did some nice sandwiches for us through room service. It is quite small and friendly. We had an excellent full breakfast the next morning and did not want to leave. Be aware though that Old Meldrum is a very small town and the hotel is outside of it so this is a rural experience. Great place for a golf getaway or small wedding I would think!
