This hotel situated in an idyllic position, with warm friendly and professional service,
outstanding restaurant food and accommodation with a wonderful homely feeling.
We would recommend anytime. Only wished we could stay for very much longer.
Feel revitalized and we definitely look forward to visiting again.

Stayed here for a couple of nights in January. The weather was cold and wet, but the hotel was warm and welcoming, particularly in front of the log fire.
The rooms are appropriately old fashioned and comfortable, and the staff very friendly with relaxed efficient service.
Food was a bit mixed. Breakfast was good, and we ate each night in the bar. (We might have eaten in the restaurant, but the menus were un-priced, and there was no information anywhere on the price, so we opted for the bar.) The bar food is pretty standard fare but made with good quality ingredients and reasonable priced. However, standards varied a bit, from excellent scampi to badly overcooked deep fried fish, so all in all it was a bit mixed. As this was a quiet Sunday night, I guess the chef was not on duty and I was just unlucky.
All in all we enjoyed our stay, and would visit again what must be one of the most scenic locations in Scotland.

We haven't stayed in Hotel Eilean Iarmain but have visited several times to eat in the bar on two separate short visits to Skye in December 2011 and January 2012. On the first occasion manager Neil MacDonald showed us round a number of the rooms, some of which were in the process of being painted and refreshed. They all looked very comfortable and extremely tastefully furnished. The restaurant and lounge both had log fires burning and were beautifully decked out for Christmas - very cosy... During our second visit, in quite miserable weather, we found ourselves with little to do at 4pm when it was dark, raining and cold and very few places were open. We went to the hotel for a hot chocolate and Neil was there again - we were the only people in the lounge but he lit the fire for us and was really welcoming, spending some time chatting with us (lovely home made shortbread was served with the hot chocolate). We ended up staying a couple of hours and had a glass of wine by the fire before eating in the pub area (Praban Bar) where there is always a roaring fire. Lovely place, good food, whickies, beers and wines. Very easy road access and we would highly recommend a visit.

Room Tip: Just tell Neil your requirements and we think he would advise well - a very genuine guy.

This beautiful little hotel was the absolute highlight of this Scottish journey. The staff were warm, friendly and very professional. Our room was spotlessly clean, charming and included lovely extras like a complimentary little bottle of whiskey and hot chocolate and herbal teas in the tea and coffee facilities. The attached pub was warm and friendly with great local pub food. The hotel restaurant was a fantastic experience from start to finish ..... Absolutely wonderful food and very professional service. I will definitely come back next time.

We only tried to have a meal here so cannot comment on the rooms.
The location is wonderful. The problem was having walked to the hotel we asked if we could take 2 dogs into the bar as it was December and wet.

We appreciate many do not want dogs in dining areas and were more than prepared to walk away. However a very nice chap said it was fine as long as we waited for a group to go into the restaurant. My partner then tried to place an order with his female colleague and she said dogs are not allowed and walked away. My partner then waited to see if anyone would take the order and in the end left the bar in tears.

Eventually we were allowed in and they apologised but it was not a nice atmosphere. I left with the dogs and did not order any food but ,my partner said the soup was good.
