I thought the photos looked good for Hill Cottage, but actually they don't do it justice. It is a spacious cottage, very warm and soundproof (couldn't hear the wind and rain!) We had been looking forward to being snug using the woodburning stove, but didn't need it as the underfloor heating was wonderful warm. Margaret called once we'd arrived to make sure everything was ok, and was very helpful. The views from the cottage are fantastic, and everychanging with the variances of weather and tides.... and the sunsets are captivating. Didn't need the tv! The cottage is very well equipped, with basic items that make life much easier (tissues, tea towels, kitchen towel, cling film, foil, salt & pepper to name but a few). The reclining chairs were a fabulous way to relax after a day exploring the island, and it was a bonus to be able to pop our ipod into the base station. It was like staying in a welcoming home belonging to a friend, rather than the often felt sterile nature of rental cottages. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the cottage.

Liked best: The views, underfloor heating giving even warmth throughout, reclining chairs
Liked least: Struggle to think of anything.... minor point - the duvet was almost too warm!

Many thanks for you very kind review and the lovely sunset photo. It is lovely to know that guests enjoy the cottage, even in 'interesting' weather. I appreciate your comment about the duvet and there is now a thinner duvet for the warmer summer nights available.

This cottage has everything you could wish for. It is extremely comfortable, with comfy beds and wonderful showers (which is usually unheard of in most rental properties). The kitchen has all the amenities anyone could need and the lounge has the most comfortable furniture with a huge TV should you need it, we just looked at the most incredible views out of every window. We had the most incredible week and can't thank Margaret enough.

“First class accommodation with magnificent views”

The cottage is absolutely fantastic and equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay. The attention to detail is incredible. The under floor heating is a great touch - kept the whole cottage warm and cosy - we didn't even need to put on the log burner. The views from the bedrooms, dining room and living room are spectacular. The weather wasn't great when we were there (October) but that didn't spoil our enjoyment - in fact watching the rain and mist sweep in over the hills was mesmerising. A truly first class property and Margaret and David couldn't do enough to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The directions to the cottage are spot on - and the information file, maps and books in the house, tell you everything you need to know about the area and Skye itself. Wonderful holiday!

“Beautiful Cottage , Beautiful View”

This lovely new cottage is spacious and missing nothing. The artwork and decor are nice but nothing compares to the views. There are spectacular views from every room. There is outdoor seating below the master bedroom window as well as a picnic table for outdoor dining. The kitchen is large and well appponted. It's has everything you need including a fan assisted oven and halogen cooker. There is a Coop close by for groceries. There is every house hold item you need. We picked up soap and shampoo but everything else is supplied. There is a washer and a clothes line which is a huge help. The fireplace and wood stove is a lovely touch. The underfloor heating keeps the place cozy. The bed was soft and large and has an en suite shower /toilet. There is a twin room which we did not use and a second bath. Each room has a TV. There are doors between rooms and it was so quiet we never heard the door. The owner is lovely. She responds to email and is very helpful. It is peaceful and serene and we did not miss the city sounds at all. Our only complaint is that we have to leave. We will definitely return for another holiday.
