We‘ve enjoyed a nice dinner @ the Creeler‘s of skye. We stepped in with five persons without a having a reservation (which was lucky as 10 minutes later it wouldn‘t habe been possible, due to further walk in guests). We (2 adults and 3 kids) enjoyed a lovely dinner, with veggie pizzas and fish) + great cheese platter and a wonderful bottle of spanish wine. I highly tecommend the Crayfish! Nice service!!! All over a wonderful evening!

Amazing scallops! Our family wasn’t disappointed, the food was delicious! Also we came in right before closing time and it was not an issue. Great service and food.

I hate being disappointed with restaurants, I loathe visiting a restaurant with trepidation. On both counts Creeler delivered. First of all, the trepidation - something about the menu on the website didn’t feel right, ok its quite expensive, fish can be, but chicken at £20? But we set off on the basis of the good reviews on tripadvisor. Secondly, disappointing. Let’s start with the interior, very basic. It’s got paper tablecloths- oh good transport cafe chic, French/Spanish style of “its all about the food and not the decor”. Ehhh, no. It’s just plain cheap.
Specials on the board - oh good. Ehh, well they’re in the written menu too - so not really special.
So cut to the chase, what about the food? Well, we both ordered from the ‘specials’ - seafood lasagne and red mullet.
Oh dear, first warning - the food arrived very and I mean very quickly. Hmm, freshly made? Don’t think so. Ok lasagne should only need heating up but the mullet needs to be seared. Did it taste nice? It was ok. However, there are serious culinary shortcomings. Both plates had half a bag of mixed leaves unceremoniously dumped across half the plate with two very large pieces of lemon - subtle it’s not. No dressing, just leaves. The lasagne was a bit rough looking and the smoked mackerel over powered the dish. The mullet was two tiny fillets lost in a gloopy sauce, the poor wee things were completely overwhelmed. I on the other hand was underwhelmed. The sauce had carrageen in it - hence the gloop - sounded promising but didn’t work. Main criticism - where is the celebration of food, the sea, the fish, the fishermen, the skill of a chef? All missing. By now we were thinking this is a mistake- I was right to be concerned. We paid our bill and said our goodbyes, 35 minutes after we came in, yep, 35 minutes and £50 poorer ( includes two small glasses house red). There is little to commend this restaurant its a huge disappointment and very poor value for money. Let’s hope someday it’ll change.

This restaurant is a gem. It is small (maybe 10 tables inside and two more outside). The decor is basic, kind of retro. The menu, on the other hand, contains, excellent local seafood, unusual meat dishes like Louisiana gumbo and chicken cachiatore, as well as vegetarian pizza, also available as gluten free. We loved it here!

We stopped for lunch; we had a lovely table outside and it was perfect. The seafood eaters loved their meals. I had the veggie pizza which was very disappointing. It was so full of onions which made up for the absence of olives. It’s ok to not have things in stock but it is courteous to let the customer know and ask what they would prefer and not assume tonnes of onions is acceptable. I can understand the price of a seafood dish to be £20 but a veggie pizza with lots of onions at 16.50 is not great! There were fresh tomato slices though.
