“Perfect Isle of Skye getaway”
Reviewed 24 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We have just returned from our week on Skye staying in Moeraki.
As a family of four (Mam, dad and two kids) the house has all you could hope for,
Warm and cosy, spacious, well furnished and everything is nice and clean.
The kids loved having an en-suite bathroom and the Wii is also a nice touch.
Views and location are perfect, right by the waters edge, we had stunning sunrises and all sorts of birds and wildlife right outside of the veranda.
It's also handy for Broadford, the Co op is only a ten minute walk away.
Your not too far from the Skye bridge if you want to visit the mainland and the rest of Skye is also within easy reach.
All in all a perfect place and we will be back!

“So good we came back”
Reviewed 6 January 2017 for a stay in December 2016

As a wee group of friends--one couple and three singletons--we booked this for an annual Hogmanay holiday at the turn of 2016, and liked it so much we booked it again for 2017 as soon as we got home. It's in an ideal location, overlooking the beach with neighbours not too close, (so it's nice and quiet,) but with Broadford's (big!) Co-op & other shops all handily walkable. Broadford's a great base for exploring the rest of Skye, and the house itself is great to come back to--with big comfy couches where you can lounge in front of a toasty wood-burning stove, looking out over the sea, a roomy kitchen / dining room that's possibly the most well-appointed we've found, (separate beer fridge--awesome!) and beds that are *seriously* comfy. It's kept pristine and with modern decor, classy but couthy, and the owner seems lovely to deal with. The layout's even great if you have a mix of early birds and late-nighters in your gang: you can sit blethering to the wee hours in the living-room and no one in the bedrooms will hear a peep. All in all, this is perfect for a group of foody friends looking for a getaway with scenic walks by day, feasting & fine wines & a flatscreen telly for New Year's Sherlock by night. I can't recommend it highly enough!

“Excellent property in a stunning location”
Reviewed 22 December 2016 for a stay in December 2016

Fantastic location to appreciate all aspects of Skye.
The cottage was more than well equipped and furnished to a high standard and was also within a stones throw from the beach.

Having stayed in many of Skye's holiday cottages over the past few years this one is the best so far A+

All communications were also ver friendly and promptly and easy to follow.

“Perfect November stay”
Reviewed 28 November 2016 for a stay in November 2016

We have just returned from a week at Moeraki. It was booked last minute and what a choice we made. The bungalow was so warm and and cosy even though the weather outside was very chilly that week. After being out for most of the day, we would return back about 3ish and the rooms were still warm.
The lounge was very comfortable with views overlooking the bay and a bonus for us was the snow capped mountains and beautiful clear blue sky as well. We spent ages watching the different sea birds, Oyster catchers in particular and the on our last full day we had the pleasure of seeing the otter eating his rather large fish breakfast on the shore directly in front of the window.
The kitchen was well stocked and a pleasure to prepare meals in. Lovely big fridge. We did eat out once. Had a lovely, decent priced meal in the bar at The Broadford Hotel which was about a 15 minute walk. The Claymore restaurant is just a couple of minutes walk away but did not eat there.
On this visit we were actually looking at a place to buy as we do want to relocate to Skye but we combined this with a lovely out of season holiday. We drove up to Carbost where the views over Loch Harport were stunning due to the snow and blue sky. Isle Ornsay was another beautiful area to stroll around and admire the views. The Marble Path is a lovely walk on a nice day.
As we were looking at properties we also went down to Armadale. I would recommend visiting the craft shop by the ferry where 'Grumpy George' sells his photographic works. Unfortunately we didn't meet George but Serena his wife is lovely and we chatted for ages. And of course couldn't resist purchasing one of his pictures to remind us of our dreams. He also loves to take photos of dogs so if you are there with your beloved pooch drop along and see them. I presume if you love the photo you can buy it.
We have been to Skye a number of times, but always in the summer. Out of season a number of places do close for the winter but on the plus side its lovely and quiet and roads are great. We loved our week in November just as much. We will be returning to Skye and will most definately be wanting to stay in Moeraki.

“Fantastic cottage on Isle of Skye”
Reviewed 2 November 2016 for a stay in October 2016

Moeraki is a well-equipped and spacious cottage. The owner, Jenny, is both friendly and helpful. The views from the lounge and main bedrooms are superb. On the edge of the sea, it has beautiful sunrises and a wealth of local wildlife. It's handily placed for touring Skye and the adjacent mainland. Even though we were at the end of the season, there were plenty of places to eat and drink. If you like great scenery and the chance to chill out, this is the place to come.
