“Lovely accommodation in a fantastic location.”
Reviewed 21 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

The cottage is in an elevated spot with breath taking views of the bay. Everything you could need for a restful or active holiday is here. The cottage is very warm and well equipped with a small garden/patio. We ate breakfast outside three times in April and managed to star gaze at night as the sky is so clear.
Tobermory is a great base to explore Mull; the shops, restaurants, places of interest and amenities here make for an enjoyable holiday. We went early in the season so it was still reasonably quiet everywhere and the roads were not busy.
It was our first visit to Scotland and we will definitely be returning.

“A great place to stay.”

Our family of four stayed here for three nights in April. The place was very clean and nicely decorated. Plenty of hot water and we loved the strong shower ! The washing machine, dishwasher, stove as well as the wood heater, TV & DVD player upstairs were all in good condition and worked without problem. The kitchen is EXTREMELY well equipped, although a little small. The cottage has great views down to the harbour from the upstairs window, although you can't just glance over to them, you have to go to the window and lean a bit.

The walk back up to the house from the harbour is a little steep but interesting and no real problem. The general area was quiet.

The upstairs lounge, with the view, also doubles as bedroom with a large fold out bed. We were also given a Z bed for our 11 year old which was fine. With 4 people the place was a little cramped. It would be an ideal place for a couple or maybe 3 adults but not more.

The only downsides were no Internet access at the time (although the owner, who was very responsive to our queries, said it was going to be put on shortly). Public Internet was available, although expensive at around £4 per hour, at the tourist info caravan by the harbour. Also the heating timer controls were not accessible to us. We asked for the times for the heating to come on to be changed and the cleaner came in to make the changes while we were out. No huge dramas but it would have been better to be able to just flip a switch ourselves.

Tobermorey is lovely. There is a small Budgens (?) in the town which has most items. Fuel was hard to come by and expensive so fill up on the mainland before crossing. We ate at Cafe Fish, which was very good, although their desserts were a little disappointing. Driving on Mull was not as tricky as we thought it would be. If it were the high season then it would probably be a different story. There is no recycling on Mull, we took ours with us and found that the ferry port in Mallaig had recycling banks.

We would happily recommend it and would definitely stay again if we were lucky enough to return to Mull.
