After a long drive north the cottage was everything we’d hoped for, warm, welcoming and very well equipped. Taigh Granaidh Is ideally situated for visiting all the major attractions across Lewis, with the Standing Stones and Dun Carloway Broch just a few minutes drive away. I’ve been visiting the Outer Hebrides for over 30 years and every time I return I fall in love with the wild rugged moors and beautiful white beaches. If you want a quiet relaxing break with spectacular scenery this is the place for you.
The May weather was unseasonably chilly, but Taigh Granaigh was a well-equipped, handily located base from which to explore Lewis & Harris & a cosy, welcoming home-from-home at the end of each day. We loved Kenny’s weaving demonstration & watching the chickens, sheep & lambs around the croft & were very grateful for the generous welcome pack. Great house; great hosts. Highly recommended.
Ideal location for exploring both Lewis and Harris. Extremely comfortable accomodation, with every amenity that you would need. Host very welcoming, with some lovely touches i.e. fresh flowers, homemade pancakes, etc. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend.
We stayed a long weekend in this lovely house while we were up for a family wedding. Taigh Granaidh was so cosy and comfortable that we wished we'd been able to spend more time there. Caroline and Kenny are lovely and very welcoming. The house is extremely well-equipped, well heated and has lovely views. Highly recommend it as a base for exploring this wonderful island.
