First visit was November 2011 and in 2018 the excellent standards of luxury have not diminished.
Met the owner on arrival and told he is only a phone call away. The visit was trouble free. Early departure on leaving day so would like to say thank you for letting us use your home.
I chose to be here for my 65th Birthday and was not disappointed.

We stayed at Abhainn from the end of February into the beginning of March and had an an absolutely brilliant time. It's in a perfect location for getting around the island and very close to the Callanish Standing Stones which are well worth a visit. The equipment levels are excellent with everything you could really need including a washing machine/tumble drier, Full HD Sky TV package, a spa bath and a sauna. David was very polite and went out of his way to be helpful including leaving us a nice selection of cakes as a greeting present! We would definitely stay there again.

My partner booked this as a surprise birthday for me and we couldn't be more impressed with the cottage.

David met us and showed us round the cottage, giving us tips with where to eat and what to do. He was also always on hand should we have needed anything.

The cottage was beautifully equipped. There was also a lovely selection of home baked goodies for us on arrival.

The cottage had everything that you could ask for and was the perfect base for exploring the isle. I especially loved the bathroom and the extensive sky package, which came in extremely handed on the day the storm hit; movies galore.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage and we will most certainly be back.

I booked a weekend at Abhainn Cottage with my partner, initially for her Birthday, but also to pop that all important question!
Upon arrival, we were met by David, the very friendly owner of the cottage, who had also been helping me plan my marriage proposal.
The house was warm, clean and extremely luxurious! We were provided with fresh home baking upon arrival, which was a brilliant perk! David also delivered flowers, champagne, and chocolates to congratulate us, while we were out celebrating our engagement!
Unfortunately the weather was poor, to say the least, during our stay, however, nothing beats coming back and getting the cottage warm with a roaring peat fire!

I simply cannot recommend this cottage enough as a cosy base to explore Lewis and Harris!
