My friend and I (and two family members) recently stayed at FBCH for three nights and it was a very nice experience. Kate was very friendly and welcoming and she and her husband had an efficient 'double act' going at breakfast time. The house is very clean and tidy and is in a very quiet location looking over the Loch. Our twin bedroom was very comfortable and offered everything we needed. We would definitely stay again if we were up that way.

This is a beautiful old house in a scenic location.
The room we booked was described as having a 'terrace'. The 'terrace' was a small fenced off area of the gravel car park just outside our room - there were a couple square feet of pavers set in the gravel and a small table and chairs, but I think calling it a terrace is a bit of a stretch and the only view from the terrace is of the cars parked adjacent to it so I really can't think why anybody would want to sit out there.

Our room was perhaps just a little larger than average size, with a 2 seater lounge and a small writing desk and chair as well as the double bed with bedside tables, and an ensuite built in the corner of the original room.

The bed was comfortable and the ensuite functional. The original room had quite a bit of character with dark wallpaper up to a dado rail and painted walls above that. The ensuite that had been built in the corner of the original room was of pine and looked completely out of character with the original parts of the room. The quality of materials and workmanship in the ensuite construction looked to be quite cheap.

Breakfast was served in a conservatory that had been added to the original house, and (although obviously more modern) this was a pleasant space and fitted with the overall character of the original house. The hot breakfast was ok (nothing really wrong with it, but not of exceptional standard either - the sausages tasted like supermarket quality).

We paid 120 pounds for our room, and I don't think that it was good value compared to other places we stayed (e.g. we stayed at High March at Drumnadrochit on the other side of the loch for a similar price and the quality of the accommodation and breakfast was much better, with the location being just as scenic as Foyers)

Room Tip: Avoid the Terrace Room: no view, and not really a terrace either!.

We loved staying at Foyers Bay Country House. It sits in a lovely spot with a nice garden, and upon arrival the first thing you see is the gorgeous resident Great Dane. The rooms are clean and well-furnished with very comfortable beds. They are stocked with coffee, tea, water bottles and a biscuit selection, which is a really nice, welcoming touch. The couple who run the place are very friendly and make a wonderful cooked breakfast in the morning. Highly recommended - even better than 37 years ago!

Very pleasant accommodation with a friendly couple. This is a beautiful old house set in a beautiful garden nearby Loch Ness. The room was cozy and clean, breakfast was very tasty, prepared with love directly by the hosts and exactly according to our wishes. Breakfast is served in a beautiful conservatory, in the evening you can sit in the cozy lounge with fireplace and taste Scotch whisky with a choice of many or wine or tea. Evening spent with our hosts chatting not only about whisky but also about Scotland was very nice, we felt like a members of family and we would like to remember this perfect moment! And few words about the location. The location is beautiful, but it is better to know, that it is only a small quiet village with one pub and a camping site. The pub is very nice and few minutes by walk from the hotel to have tasty dinner, but there's no other possibility of evening entertainment around. However, we didn't mind on our way, we were also informed about this in advance via e-mail by our hosts, so we were not surprised :-)

Lovely peaceful Hotel. If you really want to get away from the stresses of life, this is a tranquil haven.
The couple who run this Hotel are really lovely. Friendly and helpful. My husband and I wanted to go and see the waterfalls of Foyers and they gave us easy to follow directions on how best to get there on foot from the Hotel.
They also recommended a nearby Restaurant where we could get a good evening meal. The walk to this restaurant was through a charming flower laden lane, with stunning views over Loch ness.
The Hotel was traditional and lovely. Molly their pet Great Dane was just a darling. So well behaved and friendly.
Our breakfast served in the conservatory, was delicious and plentiful. The views over the Gardens were stunning , we even saw a pheasant on the lawn.
We would definitely return.
