Went for lunch today convinced it must have change hands since our last visit which was probably a couple of years ago

no daily specials which in the past were always tempting and normally chosen. Service slow food we had was ok but sorry we won't be back

There was a function on in the restaurant and we were ushered into bar area. We ordered fish and chips plus for my wife the gammon. The chips came in an oversized ramekin type dish. Not sure how many chips we each had but saying 10 was about correct. The looked like the double fried variety. When was the question??. Both lots were tepid and uncooked in the centre. My fish was a small child like portion made of two pieces of fish held in a flat batter( not crispy ) . My wife's gammon was uncooked fat at the edges still white and barely cooked gammon meat. The puddings were OK and the bill was 58 quid. High charges for pub grub not well cooked. " Ah well we are busy" was the comment from the man who took our money. Needless to say no tip here and no more visits from us. Living off a reputation that was for bye gone years. Ugh!!!!!
