“Outstanding holiday accommodation near Crieff”
Reviewed 7 September 2016 for a stay in July 2016

My wife and I stayed in the cottage with our two married children and young grand-daughter and would happily report that this is the best appointed cottage that we have ever visited. On arrival our lovely host Janet had left a wonderful "welcome pack" including delicious eggs from her farm and a superb home-baked cake. The cottage is beautifully decorated throughout, the lounge is bright and airy (I only wish we had been there in the winter when we could have lit the log-fire!), the bedrooms are very comfortable and the en-suite bathrooms very clean and spacious. The large dining/kitchen is a natural "social centre" where everyone can meet and chat, and the kitchen is very well stocked with every cooking aid possible, including a coffee percolator (which seemed to be constantly on!). We wouldn't hesitate in recommending this cottage.

“We loved it - highly recommended!”
Reviewed 4 September 2016 for a stay in August 2016

The Distillery cottage is beautiful and far exceeded our expectations. The photos simply cannot do it justice, you have to see it with your own eyes! Janet and Jim are so friendly and welcoming. Being greeted with a lovely home made cake and shortbread after a long journey was the perfect start to our holiday. The cottage is spotlessly clean with stunning views from every window and has everything you could need for a comfortable stay. There are toys and a well stocked cupboard full of DVDs, books and games and lots of leaflets and information about places to visit. We enjoyed cooking in the beautiful and well equipped kitchen (there's a large co op just up the road) so we only ate dinner out once. The bedrooms are comfortable and relaxing and the bathrooms are beautiful. We loved hearing the cows right outside in the morning and our daughter enjoyed feeding the chickens and the visits from the friendly cats.

Crieff is the perfect base from which to discover the area. We had lots of great days out. Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument, Edinburgh (we used the excellent tram service at the park and ride), boat trip at Loch Katrina, 'Queen's View' at Loch Tummel, a drive though the Cairngorms to Highland Wildlife park, walks around the towns of Pitlochry, Aberfeldy and Callander and a quick walk around Gleneagles hotel which is very close by. We also had a flying visit to the Falkirk wheel and drove past the Kelpies which look amazing.

Crieff itself is also lovely, the visitors centre has a great shop and glass painting in the glass shop (good fun on a rainy day). We loved Cafe Rhubarb in the town. We drove past a great looking play area but didn't get any time to use it, unfortunately.

We hope to return one day!

“Wonderful wonderful wonderful”
Reviewed 31 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

I booked this for elderly relatives and it was perfect for them. Other family members visited throughout the week and everyone thought it was fab. And it is. I think we had 12 folk in at one point at it's so spacious you didn't know it. Location is great, the walk into Crieff along the farm track/path is brilliant for getting to Crieff without the main road. In the middle of a working farm so cows, chickens kept the kids occupied. Janet even let me visit with the dog, who to be fair was hardly in the house as she was fascinated by the cows!
I asked the folks is there was anything about the house they'd improve. A lot of head scratching before they decided on (be prepared Janet, this is going to hurt...), 'We ate a lot of toast so a 4 slot toaster instead of a 2 slot toaster would be handy...' I was laughing my head off- it that's the only criticism of a cottage then you get an idea of how amazing this place is. I think they'd love to come back and I'd definitely love to stay with family or friends.

Thanks Ash. Glad you all enjoyed the cottage. A good idea to have a 4 slot toaster - thanks for the tip I will get one. Hope to see you all again some day. Janet

“The Distillery is a great cottage with beautiful scenery, an idyllic setting and gracious hosts.”

We made Crieff our base while we visited several locations throughout mid Scotland and chose The Distillery as our home away from home. There were four of us traveling, two couples, and the cottage was wonderful. It is well equipped with everything you need for a quick stay or an extended stay. There was even room for another couple to have their own room with en-suite.
Our hosts welcomed us with tea, coffee, milk, eggs and a delicious cake. We could not have felt more at home. There is a welcome book with everything you need to know about the cottage and reviews of local restaurants and attractions. They were spot on!
We could not recommend The Distillery more highly. It was an amazing destination.

Liked best: It was a luxurious getaway in the countryside with all the comforts of home.
Liked least: The shower floors are extremely slick...until we found the bathmat in the bedroom closet.

“Beautiful Cottage”

We booked a short break here with our 2 young boys and were absolutely delighted with the property. It is a beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting with amazing views from every window. The cottage was spotless and had so much space for our boys to play in. Janet really has thought of everything and couldn't have been more helpful and understanding when we had to cut our break short with a poorly child. We will definitely be back and can't recommend this property highly enough. An amazing place!
