We can only agree with what the other guests wrote about Eagle Lodge: Brilliant! Very comfortable, good furniture, well equipped kitchen.
Watching the waterfowl, dear and even an eagle and ravens from the balcony/decking, sitting in the sunshine every day…
We did some waterfall walks; the short hill walk at Menzies Castle and we toured in the afternoon. There are so many things to do, we could easily have stayed a week. From all the accommodation we rented in the last few years in Scotland (Spring time and Autumn) we all agreed: Eagle Lodge is the best!
Beautiful lodge on the edge of a small loch. The attention to detail was impressive. The goodies on arrival were a lovely surprise and much appreciated. The lodge was immaculate, spacious and huge! The scenery from the windows/ veranda were breathtaking . Fed the ducks and swans every morning and evening. Watching their evening antics was better than TV. The weather was fantastic with never ending blue skies. Russell and Sandy were very attentive friendly hosts ensuring we had everything we needed. They responded quickly to any queries. Good central location to explore Perthshire.
Just arrived home from a long weekend staying at the Rainbow Lodge at Glengoulandie with friends. On arrival the first impression you have is the setting, the lodge sits right on the Lochan, and has amazing views of the surrounding hills, including Schiehallion, with red deer grazing on the hillside opposite the lodge. There are birds and wildlife aplenty, enough to suit even the most ardent naturalist.
The lodge itself was beautiful, well maintained and equipped, with loads of space and great views from the living area window out over the lochan. Each bedroom has a large en-suite bathroom, the bedrooms are well-separated providing good privacy. The balcony is literally right over the edge of the lochan, we had a family of swans visit us several times as we sat outside.
Russell and Sandy had left a welcome pack to start our stay off, and a nice surprise of a bottle of wine and a sizeable pack of assorted biscuits.
The aim of our break was for relaxation, so we didn't venture out too far, but it was mission accomplished. We had a quiet stroll around the area, it was so peaceful, the only drama experienced was with the wildlife, the ducks squabbling and the swans protecting their cygnets! The lodge is situated in a stunning area, a short walk or drive will take you to some of the best scenery Scotland has to offer.
We met Russell and Sandy who were very keen to make sure we enjoyed our stay, which we did, 100%
I would wholeheartedly recommend these lodges to anyone who values peace and quiet, great accommodation and stunning surroundings!
We have just enjoyed our best family holiday ever at Eagle Lodge, one of the three Lodges that is owned by Glengoulandie Lodges On The Waterfront. The minute we walked in the door we knew we were in for something special - an inviting and generous welcome pack full of goodies greeted us. And the lodge is just wonderful - immaculately presented, beautifully clean, and luxurious facilities. Then there are the stunning views across the loch to the deer park and mountains. Even on a wet day it's fun just to cosy up inside and watch the weather blow through. A great central location with so many interesting places to visit. Far too many for one holiday, so we are already planning our dates for a return visit in Summer next year.
We stayed in the Eagle Lodge number 9 which is on the waterfront. The lodges are excellent, very spacious, well equipped with all the amenities you could hope for and more. They are very comfortable, clean and well looked after. Our hosts Russell and Sandy were fabulous and responded to any queries we had very quickly. They even left us a couple of nice surprises which were just lovely. The lodges overlook a highland Lochan which attracts an abundance of wildlife including Whooper Swans, Coots, Tufted Ducks, Eider Ducks, Goldeneye, Goosander, Canada Geese and a rare Mandarin, among others. We also spotted many Buzzards and a couple of Osprey, and not forgetting the resident Red Deer. The lodges are around a 10-15 minute drive from Aberfeldy which has good local bakeries and a butchers shop, as well as a good sized Co-op for any groceries. The are some fabulous walks around the area and plenty of outdoor activities for those a little more adventurous. I would definitely recommend these lodges and will be booking another holiday soon.
