Just returned from a 3 night stay, 2 adults and our well behaved labradoodle, the cottage is lovely set by the river Tay in beautiful surroundings, very clean and had everything you need, hot tub was really good as was the fire pit and garden area, pool table was brilliant fun, loads of walks in surrounding area also aberfeldy very dog friendly in pubs and cafes, will definatly be returning for another break.
We stayed for my husband's big birthday. The cottage is so romantic.. fireplace/wood burning stove. The rooms are spotlessly clean. The cottage setting by the banks of the Tay with lots of private ground are just what you need to relax and chill. The hot-tub and sauna are the icing on the cake.
We took our two well behaved labradors. There are lots of breathtaking walks locally and Aberfeldy has lots of lovely coffee shops. Everything is also open on a Sunday.
I can't recommend the cottage enough.
My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights and loved every minute if it. The hot tub and sauna are great and very private even though John's house is next to the cottage. The whole area is very peaceful and great if you want to get away from everything and relax. The local deer would come find to the gardens in the morning to feed and it was great watching them. If you are visiting Aberfeldy, I'd recommend booking the taxi in advance as there is only 1 taxi in the area or a 1 hour walk from Aberfeldy to the cottage. During our stay we never seen or heard from John but he was always on hand if we required anything. Can't wait to visit again. Another recommendation is the Highland Safari in Dull.
Stayed here for one week over New Year as a couple and our dog. On arrival we were greeted by an ice bucket containing acwell chilled bottle of fizz, a huge tub of chocs and posh crisps - so far so good! The cottage itself is very well appointed, and the addition of a real christmas tree really set the scene. Both fires were set ready to go, which was very appreciated. Upstairs on a small table nestled a selection of single malt whiskies and little glasses for a nightcap. We are not whisky drinkers but it was a lovely bit of Scottish hospitality. The bedroom was very comfortable and the view of fhe river from the bedroom window made long lies very easy. The kitchen was very well stocked with salt, pepper, spices, sauces and plenty of clingfilm, foil etc etc. Tea, coffee and sugar was also provided. Thick bathrobes are provided which made getting out the hottub and back into the house very easy. The outdoor facilities were very good, we were in the hottub daily and sauna was fantastic - it is powered by a proper woodburner and was really easy to use. We had one fire in the fire pit which was very atmospheric. All logs and coal are included in the price and John the owner who lives next door kept us topped up on a daily basis. This was a real bonus for us as we had a fire everyday and in the past we have been charged for electricity, oil and logs at other places, which can mount up very quickly. The setting of this house, the indoor and outdoor facilities make this a very charming property. We had been trying to book for some time but it has a very high occupancy rate - not surprising really! John was very helpful but unobtrusive throughout our stay and seems to have lots of plans to keep trying to improve things, although not much needs improving. If you like self catering and hottubs then this place is a must but book early!!!!! Thanks so much to John and family we look forward to returning soon.
What can I say apart from stunning!
We arrived after a long drive to be met by John pottering round making sure everything was in order, we were given a guided tour and shown how everything worked and then left alone. The location is absolutely stunning, situated by the river has beautiful river views and is so so quiet.
The cottage inside has a modern theme and is well fitted out with everything you could need for a break away. The bedrooms are a very good size and both beds were very comfy, the bathroom is downstairs with a shower and bath with a washing machine discreetly tucked away in a cupboard just incase you need to use it.
Both the sitting and dining rooms have either a log burner or open fireplace with the wood and coal freely available to use. It was stocked up by John outside so never had to ask for more.
The cottage does have wifi however it is not reliable wifi but paired our phones to get wifi so bare that in mind!
The gardens again are lovely and there was an extra 7 acres for you to wonder around in past Johns house. The hot tub was in the garden next to a wooden wood stove sauna we spent every evening with the kids in the hot tub and sauna overlooking the river truly lovely!
Would we come again most defiantly!
