Didn't sleep here so bit about rooms being excellent is only a guess (I couldn't leave it blank!) but had two meals which were lovely and great value. Great location and very accommodating staff. We stayed at the Barn which was excellent and they recommended the hotel. The island is beautiful with the most wonderful little airfield, a creepy but excellent castle and excellent bird reserves

We stayed overnight 5th August with our two German Shepherds.Arrived mid afternoon to glorious sunshine ate fish & chips in the garden absolutely delicious. Breakfast following morning equally so. Lovely room with view over the sea. if you have a chance to visit Westray then recommend staying at The Pierowall or at least enjoy a meal there.

We were staying in a B&B on the island (the hotel was full) but wanted to eat here after all the good reviews on TA. It is a small place, very homely and comfy, a real oasis on a wet and windy day. Our dinner was faultless. Grimbister cheese croquettes to start with and the famous 'fish and chips' to follow. Delicious! Orkney ice cream and good coffee served in Westrey pottery mugs rounded off a very peasant evening.

We stayed at the Pierowall hotel for three nights in June, in addition to a couple of other visits over many years. Rooms are always clean. All meals are well prepared and hearty. The bar is a great social center to meet with other tourists or some of the locals. Convenient to all of the island's attractions. A friendly place to stay. We will return.

We were staying in our caravan on the Orkney Mainland but wanted to visit Westray and also do the short plane trip to Papa Westray so left the 'van behind behind and drove up to Pierowall and stopped at the Pierowall Hotel for one night. We were greated with a warm welcome and had a great room overlooking the harbour and settled into a very nice meal that evening after which we went Puffin watching at Stanger Head. We also went up to Noup Head with the lighthouse, sheer cliffs and a seal collony. Stunning!. A great breakfast in the morning helped make up for the fog which cancelled our 90 second flight to Papa Westray. Weather eh!! Great hotel and thoroughly recommend.
