“Elegant retreat situated directly on the coastal path”
Reviewed 11 October 2016 for a stay in September 2016

This considerately and elegantly furnished house is the ideal base for exploring the East Neuk of Fife. Situated right on the coastal path a stone's throw from remote historic Cellardyke harbour it is only a short stroll to Anstruther's picturesque and lively marina with its cafès, restsaurants and shops.
We really enjoyed the amenities of Pebbles Cottage: the well equipped kitchen, the cozy fireplace, the spacious bathroom with the gorgeous shower, the airy loft bedroom with ensuite bath- to name only some.
The absolute highlight is the summerhouse on the upper terrace of the garden which offers stunning views over the Firth to the Isle of May.
The landlady Catherine has been extermely helpful and attentive before, during and even after our stay. She came up with a lot of usefeul recommendations that helped to make the mo cabst of our holiday.
We highly recommend this property.

“Nice cottage in Anstruther with beautiful views from the back garden”
Reviewed 16 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

I stayed here with four other family members. We picked the location because it was close to the water and not far from St. Andrews.

From the moment we booked, Catherine was very helpful. We exchanged a few emails over a couple of months prior to our stay; she gave advice on things to do and see while in Scotland.

The downstairs of the cottage is functional. However, I would have preferred carpet for it to feel more welcoming. We didn't spend much time downstairs.
The bedrooms and bathrooms on the next two levels were very nice.

I wish we weren't so busy while we were there so we could have enjoyed the back garden more! There are multiple levels with a sun room at the top level. From the back garden you have beautiful views of the water.

The cottage was within walking distance to the harbour where most of the restaurants are.
It is also right next to the coastal walk. My husband and I walked on the coastal walk one evening; it was beautiful!

During our stay we had a few questions for Catherine. She was extremely responsive and flexible!

“The most accommodating owner, lovely location and stunning views!”
Reviewed 8 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

I can't recommend this letting enough. The house was fab and we discovered a park for the children literally two seconds away with the most amazing view out to sea, we were so lucky seeing dolphins out to sea too one of the days.

There was so much for the children to do. The walk was a little too far for us to where the main shops were but literally a minute or so in the car. We highly recommend any of the fish and chip shops as well as The Bakehouse cafe.

I can't remember the last time we went somewhere and really noticed how lovely all the people were, from the property owner to people we passed in the street and staff in some of the busiest fish and chip shops I've ever seen... They queue rounds the streets!!

We had a boiler problem on the first night, Catherine was straight on to it sending round a lady to have a look and then as we were going out for the day they arranged to to come back to the house with the plumber as our things were left there. They honestly couldn't do enough. When we arrived back the boiler was fixed, we had a lovely card and lots of goodies from Catherine to apologise.

While there are a few steps to the top of the summer house you won't regret it when you see the view. We each carried something up and spend an evening there one night as we didn't want to waste it, you'd be lucky to get a view like that again in a hurry.

Catherine had thought of lots of little things around the house which came in handy. She even left presents for the kids and dog when we arrived. Top stars for the owner and the location, we will be returning!

“Great little cottage situated in a lovely picturesque fishing village”

We arrived after at Pebbles Cottage a grueling 7 hour drive up to Anstruther, both of us in desperate need of freshening up and some food! We decided to explore the cottage first though. the place has been decorated very nicely with ample space in all 3 bedrooms and great little touches here and there, such as the amazing shower facility in the first floor bathroom. Later on in the evening we had a walk into the town itself to stretch our legs and get a bite to eat. We settled on a local fish restaurant and as soon as the food arrived we knew that that right decision was made, the seafood was excellent.

Thank you for taking the time to give a review, if you manage to visit again, some of the supermarkets do on line delivery to the area, that you may wish to consider using, however if you are hungry not much competes with fish and chips!!

“Modern Home in a Superb Sun Spot”

Pebble Cottage in Cellardyke was fantastic. The house is beautiful, with all modern amenities. The garden has a sun spot for outside eating and a sun house at the top of the garden with a brilliant view and blankets and seats to enjoy it no matter the weather. Catherine was very helpful before our stay providing lots of great ideas for activities and restaurants. The house was clean, cosy and secure. It's a beatiful area to explore, i would highly reccommend it.
