Compact cottage, sorry there was no garden to speak of but we enjoyed our stay and hopefully left the cottage how anyone else would wish to find it, except I forgot to empty the food bin. Suddenly at 4.50 a.m. Monday a picture fell off the wall the string had broken. Didn't half give us a fright.
The location of Duck Cottage is great. Sea views driving in, with Anstruther a short drive away. The coast road to Crail did tax our endurance with two young kids, but is so worth doing, and is accessible from the cottage by foot. Dundee, St Andrews, and Edinburgh are within a decent driving distance, and we even visited Perth for a concert. Pittenweem is also beautiful, with a park and pretty little beach walk.
The cottage had everything we could need for our stay. There was plenty of parking, and the location opposite the church with hourly bell tolling didn't bother us, with the 6 year old sleeping through (only tolls until about 11pm). Wifi is slow, however that is expected in a rural area, but there are a great selection of books, DVDs and CDs to entertain you. The washing machine was also a welcome addition for emergencies.
Jonathan has been helpful and kind during our communications, and I would not hesitate to visit again, thank you.
The facilities at the cottage have been enhanced with the addition of wifi since our last stay. I would highly recommend Duck Cottage
Our second visit to Duck Cottage this year
My daughter loves coming here with her dog, lots of nice walks
The addition of WiFi is a good addition
We’ll be back
