Friends of ours visiting us over Easter weeks, took us out to Wimbourne to especially visit Walford Mill Crafts. It proved to be most interesting. Old country buildings by the riverside, containing exhibitions of local interest, both historical and contemporary. There were also workers exhibiting hand made jewelry, woodcarvings, silk work, drawings and paintings, hand worked greetings cards etc. all very laudable. There is also a cafe/ bistro on site offering many home made delicacies. Pay-parking is available.

Great gallery displaying a wide variety of craft people's work from the local area and further afield. Great mix of crafts from ceramics, wood and glass to jewellery, textiles and printed work. Not to be missed if you are looking for a unique gift you will surely find it here.

Not sure what I expected as this is described as Walford Mill Crafts and yes there is a lovely art gallery but not much else. There was another small shop in thr Courtyard which was closed for a staff meeting and then there is the cafe which is situated by the river. I am sure this is a lovely place to visit in the warmer weather. I definitely expected much more.

The Craft Gallery is full of wonderful gifts and a visit can be followed up with a coffee or meal in the cafe in the courtyard. The food is excellent, staff lovely and it's much quieter and less frenzied than the nearby Pamphill dairy favoured by the masses. In the warmer months there are tables outside by the river and it really is a pleasure to go there. The gallery is on 3 floors in the old mill but the restaurant and toilet are accessible.

I went back here whilst on holiday in the summer.I still remember it from 15 years ago when we were last down here! It was at the top of my to do list. The mill building itself is a lovely setting with a glass viewing window to the river below. The crafts are excellent quality and very different from the tat that is sometimes on offer!Yes,it is expensive but you get what you pay for. I only wish that I lived closer and could visit mor often.
