“Good house, good location, great view”
Reviewed 1 January 2017 for a stay in December 2016

The property was as described and larger than anticipated. Although there is a designated car parking space behind the property, we managed to park on the road outside the property which was more convenient.

Ground floor
The kitchen is large and well equipped with the dinning area to one side being conveniently placed and big enough to seat seven people. In addition to the kitchen, there is a shower/toilet and an en-suite bedroom. The entrance hallway has plenty of hooks for coats and space for leaving shoes.

First floor
The lounge is larger than the photos suggest, has excellent sea views and also overlooks Chesil beach. There is a toilet off the lounge which is very convenient and saves trips up and down the stairs. These are the only rooms on this floor.

Second Floor
There are two bedrooms upstairs, neither being en-suite and no bathroom or toilet. The ceilings are sloping with skylight windows which are easily opened and give good views.

The property was very comfortable and warm and although was on three floors it was not inconvenient in anyway for our party.

We had a fantastic weekend last November in this fabulous house with 4 friends. The accommodation is extremely comfortable and even in the windy, wet weather the house felt warm and friendly. The large kitchen was ideal for friends to re group in to prepare food and share a meal. There were plenty of games and books and a good sized TV for relaxation in the 1st floor sitting room. The beach is a stroll away from the house as is a very friendly pub which serves good food. The views of the beach and coast are fabulous from the windows at the front of the house. We are looking forward to another visit soon.

“Comfortable - stunning view of Chesil Beach”
Reviewed 5 April 2016 for a stay in November 2015

We enjoyed a stormy weekend on Portland in November 2015. The house is unique and has been tastefully updated for holiday guests. The kitchen still has a police cell door!
The sitting room has amazing views and there is an easy walk from the house down to the beach and a great pub.
Six of us stayed for a long weekend and the house was warm and cosy whilst outside the wind and rain battered Portland! Despite the weather we had a fun visit to the lighthouse and the beach. Will book again for sure.

“Beautiful restored character property”
Reviewed 27 March 2016 for a stay in October 2015

We had a great time at Stephen's and Debbie's beautifully restored character property.
The Old Police station is in the centre of Portland with fantastic sea views .Oposite the park and a short walk- to the sea,- their beach hut and - an excellent coastal pub where you can observers all the Chesil Beach activities. We had great weather and the sea cliff walk was memorable .

“Loved this place! Perfect for a taste of Portland.”
Reviewed 22 March 2016 for a stay in October 2015

We had a wonderful stay in the Old Police Station. The house has been tastefully decorated and the views from the sitting room are outstanding. The courtyard garden is the perfect oasis on a sunny day and we spent many an hour relaxing there.
The house is situated in a great location for walks around and through Portland with a wide choice of pubs and places to eat to sustain you on your way.
The owners couldn't have done more to ensure that our stay was first class.
We will be booking again!!
