Unless you are really, really into subtropical plants, don't waste your money visiting here. It is very expensive (£12.50 pp), parts of the garden were closed, and the peace and quiet of those which weren't totally ruined by the continuous noise of two chainsaws. No information leaflets (hadn't arrived from the printers, which is pretty lame planning for a busy Easter week). The crowning dis-glory was the restaurant, where we had to queue for over ten minutes to pay for very overpriced prepacked sandwiches and bottled drinks (I.e. Absolutely no service needed at all other than to take our money). The only redeeming feature is the plant shop, where there is an interesting and well kept range of shrubs and perennials for sale.

We visited the Swannery up the road and purchased a passport ticket which allowed discounted entry to this place.
I have to admit it's a lovely garden but I would have been bitterly disappointed had we paid full price. It was a nice peaceful walk though and the paths are fairly even and the route is clearly marked. There is a signed route for those with mobility problems that takes in a large portion of the garden nut not all. The rope bridge was quite fun and a nice touch but the ponds could have been cleaner and some nice fish wouldn't hurt.
The restaurant is way overpriced at about £9.00 for a cheese sandwich accompanied by a bit of salad and some vegetable crisps. The food was good but still not worth the money.
That said, this place is worth a visit but please don't pay full price.

Beautiful garden. We happened to visit on a lovely sunny day, so despite everything still recovering from the harsh winter, the place was fab. I can only imagine how wonderful it will look at the height of the season. Worth a visit and not silly prices to get in either. Go on line to book to get discount..

This garden provides a relaxing environment for those wishing to escape the hurly burly of the South coast resorts. The only downside is the price. There is a lovely cafe on site but you need to pay your entrance fee to access it - seems the owners are missing a trick by situating the cafe on the wrong side of the entrance gate.

A large garden which can be started by having a healthy full breakfast in the restaurant .From the highest point is a panoramic view over Chesil Beach
