Owner description: A unique opportunity to see wild badgers who come very close to you on their own terms. Walk through beautiful scenery and woodland to a purpose-built hide overlooking the natural sett where you can sit comfortably to observe these fascinating wild creatures. A magical experience.

Just my wife and I on this Badger watch. Once in the vicinity of the Badger set you are not able to make any noise or say anything. You then go into the hide and Kevin put some peanuts out and cleaned the windows. Right on cue 5 badgers appeared feeding and playing. They are so close its incredible. Kevin is a real Badger expert and tells us about the Badgers we are seeing and about Badgers in general in a hushed mono tone voice so that the badgers are not disturbed. After half an hour they all drifted off into the wood and we returned to the visitors centre where Kevin was able to answer all our questions. It was a fantastic experience for us to be so close to these amazing animals. I am also filled with admiration for Kevin (and his wife Anne) who are clearly dedicated to their badgers and clearly understand Badgers and their behaviour very well indeed.

We turned up, 2 adults and a 10 year old, at 5.45; the time we were specifically emailed to be there by. The host didn’t turn up until 6. We had a 10 year old with us. The host didn’t remotely try to engage with us or her. The badgers were amazing; we weren’t disappointed in that. Our 10 year old was a good deal quieter than one of the middle aged adults who attended.

I think the title just about sums it up. It was a truly humbling and magical experience and we learnt so much. The badgers were so close you could see their little wet noses and glints in their eyes. We shall definitely return for one of the photography nights.

This is a fantastic experience to see the badgers in their own environment. Our guide, Kevin, was incredibly knowledgable about badgers, and the sett we were looking at. The badgers come very close to the hide, so you really get a good opportunity to study them. There are special evenings for photographers as well, and so anyone looking for the opportunity to photograph these shy animals can find it here. You need to book online to view the badgers and the website tells you how to find out about the photography evenings.
There is a little visitors centre in an old dairy, and a loo in the farmhouse nearby. Parking is plentiful.

Highly recommended for animal lovers, but especially for photographers. Seeing two female and four juvenile badgers out at the same time was an amazing treat. The setup is brilliant: clear viewing and photographic access, perfectly placed hide almost on top of the sett!
I would recommend a visit to anyone - families would love the knowledgeable narration about badger habitat and natural history, photographers would relish the fantastic location and proximity to the animals.
Be aware that there is a bit of an uneven walk to the woods from the car park, and some steps in the immediate access to the hide.
