I think the title just about sums it up. It was a truly humbling and magical experience and we learnt so much. The badgers were so close you could see their little wet noses and glints in their eyes. We shall definitely return for one of the photography nights.

This is a fantastic experience to see the badgers in their own environment. Our guide, Kevin, was incredibly knowledgable about badgers, and the sett we were looking at. The badgers come very close to the hide, so you really get a good opportunity to study them. There are special evenings for photographers as well, and so anyone looking for the opportunity to photograph these shy animals can find it here. You need to book online to view the badgers and the website tells you how to find out about the photography evenings.
There is a little visitors centre in an old dairy, and a loo in the farmhouse nearby. Parking is plentiful.

Highly recommended for animal lovers, but especially for photographers. Seeing two female and four juvenile badgers out at the same time was an amazing treat. The setup is brilliant: clear viewing and photographic access, perfectly placed hide almost on top of the sett!
I would recommend a visit to anyone - families would love the knowledgeable narration about badger habitat and natural history, photographers would relish the fantastic location and proximity to the animals.
Be aware that there is a bit of an uneven walk to the woods from the car park, and some steps in the immediate access to the hide.

Great opportunity to see and learn about badgers. Hide was comfortable and we saw six badgers close up. Kevin very knowledgeable and gave us lots of interesting information about them. A very enjoyable evening!

We were very lucky with weather. The evening was warm and with no wind. We were lucky enough to see 5 Badgers extremely close to us and they stayed close by for quite some time so we could get a really good look at them. Kevin gave us a very informative talk about these animals, their habitat, habits and the problems they face. Had been meaning to come here for some years and we are really glad we did. The hide is in a lovely woodland setting (an easy and delightful walk from the farm) and, as well as Badgers, we saw Jays. This was the first time any of us had seen a live Badger. We would highly recommend Devon Badger Watch to others. It is an unusual and unforgettable experience where you can get very close to nature.
