A group of 8 of us planned a long weekend away for walking, running, cycling and evenings of relaxation and good company. This place gave us everything we needed. The cottage has been renovated to an incredibly high standard with beautiful exposed stone and wood, underfloor heating, an en suite for every bedroom.
The kitchen has everything you'll need to cook a roast dinner, with a huge range and induction hob to cook it on. The open plan kitchen, dining room, lounge has wonderful views across the valley. The bedrooms are all very comfortably appointed with some doubles and other twins that can be zipped together to make enormous doubles.
We were very lucky as the other buildings were unoccupied, so we have free reign of the 13m swimming pool, sauna and games room. The pool is warm and clean, with changing rooms and showers. The games room has table tennis, pool, darts and table football.
As for location, this cottage is only a mile or so from the A361, so it's really easy to find and the owners gave us great directions. It's situated on the edge of Exmoor, so if you fancy cycling up and down some hills there is plenty of choice!
If you're lucky, the farm's Jack Russell will come and join you. He's an adorable little chap, but beware those puppy eyes demanding scraps, I think he knows he isn't allowed, but he'll try!
