“Was ok, a few issues, but did the job”

The cottage is pleasant enough, the kitchen you could call rustic but is somewhat in need of a refurb as most of the drawers needed heaving to get open and half of it is a different design to the other half. Upstairs is very quaint & comfortable and what we have come to expect of cottages we have stayed in. The sofa in the living room has seen better days and seemed strangely at odds with the style of the rest of the cottage being a somewhat modern styling and a faded grey colour. The real pain though was parking, it took over an hour of driving around after we arrived to find a space and parked on the other side of town and we only found that space because some friendly locals helped us out - the owner provided some advice on this but we arrived on a Saturday afternoon on a sunny day so the advice wasn't really applicable as those spots were gone (and were for the whole weekend) so be prepared for a lot of touring about if you arrive in a busy period - our car was also hit whilst parked in the space we found as the roads are very narrow so rear wing now needs a respray at a cost of a couple of hundred pounds. So overall its ok, appreciate its in a great spot and close to the beach but but not one of the best we have stayed in

I was surprised to read your comments, after your email saying what a wonderful holiday you'd had and how good the cottage was.

I'm sorry I had to withhold your damage deposit. We very rarely do this, but we have had such a massive problem cleaning up after your accident with the medicine etc, that I felt it was justified. It certainly cost us considerably more than £50 and a lot of hard work to get the cottage ready for the next family.

“Excellent stay ”
Reviewed 2 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Stayed here with my partner and youngest son(18 months old) & had a great break, well worth the money & will return again, lots of places to eat and have a drink, a nice walk into teignmouth which has loads of activities for the kids, a great base to get around and very friendly atmosphere, Helen the owner gave us great advice about the place,it is very narrow so had to park around a 5 minute walk away but it's along the coast so no hardship but a slight incline on the return, we had the pushchair and could get about so not too bad, will definitely be returning

“Cosy, quaint and perfectly located”
Reviewed 10 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

We loved our stay at Dolphin Cottage and felt at home striaght away. It would have been lovely to have views of the sea but it also had the bonus of being down a quiet lane away from the hustle and bustle. Great location for walks for dinner at the various restraurants. We enjoyed the Ness and Ode. The Ferry Boat Inn had live music all weekend and being only 50m from the sea and beach the cottage was perfectly located. It is by far not 5 star accommodation but rustic and in keeping with the age of the property. Everything worked!
