“Rooster Stay - Oct 16 ”
Reviewed 23 October 2016 for a stay in October 2016

Just returned from our stay at Rooster Hall and are planning our return already. The cottage is beautiful, located in the lovely village of Shaldon.
We are a family of 6 , ranging from 15 years old to a 4 year old and the cottage was the perfect base for our stay. I was slightly nervous ahead of arriving because some of the older properties can be on the small side internally. Not this one . It is superbly equipped with everything you would possibly need and more. Having stayed in numerous properties over the years, what I particularly liked about this was the relaxed style of the welcome notes and helpful tips. It very much had the feel of .. Come in and enjoy the cottage . Which is exactly what we did ! Our Family loved this cottage - so will you .

rooster hall proved a perfect base to explore a lovely part of the U.K. The property is full of charm and has everything you need. Gillian kept in touch to make sure everything was A1 for us.

“Idyllic stay in Shaldon”

We stayed recently as a family of 5 spanning 3 generations having carefully researched options for a family trip to celebrate a biirthday. From the start to finish communication with the owner has been faultless and easy and the whole week in Rooster Hall has been a joy.

The cottage is so pretty. The layout was ideal for us as 2 separate couples with one child as the twin room is right by one of the doubles with the other double at the opposite end. The pictures accurately represent the interior and we found it a real home from home with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Found it easy to replace a couple of bulbs with the spares when needed. We made use of the games and books too.

Our bed was large and very comfortable and we slept really well - no noise whatsoever from the neighbourhood. The jacuzzi bath was also a welcome treat after a busy day out.
I especially liked the outside patio area which we used for several evening meals and breakfasts. The garden was gorgeous with a great variety of shrubs, flowers and features and it being completely enclosed was great with a 3 year old. We enjoyed good games of hide and seek with our 3 year old grandson who loved his 'holiday house' and is asking to go back! I wish - could happily have spent more time there.

The walk into the village was 15/20 mins and this was a pleasant stroll through the pretty village. Shaldon has plenty of places to eat and drink and we visited most local attractions over the week and were very taken with it all. Lots to do too in the surrounding areas - Woodlands Family Park and Powderham Castle were highlights for my grandson.

Overall a great stay here and I'd highly recommend a visit.
