Pleasant cafe situated in garden centre. Varied menu at reasonable prices. Sat outside in the sunshine and enjoyed our lunch.

Consistently really good cafe restaurant with wide range of snacks and lunches.
In the context of a really good garden centre with knowledgeable and helpful staff, and plants for sale attractively set out, not just dumped on racks.

We cannot make our annual pilgrimage to my hometown (Kingsbridge) without our annual pilgrimage to this delightful place. Its location is wonderful, peaceful, with trees,a lovely stream and quietude.
As ever, we ate really well; my husband had celeriac and parsnip soup with what he described as the nicest cheese scone ever. I chose stuffed potato skins with salad and neither of us could resist a dessert which we rarely have at lunchtime. His chocolate roulade was immense but delicious, he reported. My lemon meringue pie was not of a similar size ( good! - I hate leaving good food) but it was also delicious.
We could not agree with the comments about indifferent staff; our experience was of pleasant and welcoming waitresses, certainly the one who served our table.
So good to re-visit and find somewhere just as good as before. Carry on the tradition, it works!
Would love to buy some of the plants as a souvenir but what grows in lovely warm and sheltered Devon dies a rapid death in windy and cold Derbyshire, so we will have to live with our food memories alone.

We found that the staff in the cafe were not friendly on arrival. We often find that the dishwasher does not clean the cups efficiently. My husband took his cup back and he found there was just nothing from the staff.

Fantastic day at Avon Mill, the plants are so different from the norm and very competitively priced. The food is fab and the staff are so lovely, I would recommend it to anyone and you take your dog too.
