“Great for kids and dogs.....!”
Reviewed 24 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We stayed in Sunflower cottage on our first holiday with our 2 year old son and 2 dogs. What can I say, it was perfect! Linda was very welcoming and her family were friendly. We loved the little touches like the cakes and freshly picked flowers in the cottage, plus toys and books to keep our little boy happy.
The cottage itself is characterful and homely. The stone floors in the hallway were great for the dogs, we took an extra stair gate (there were two in the cottage already) and put it on the living room door to keep any damp paws off the carpet. Everything in the cottage was very clean and it was very well equipped. There was lots of hot water and the spring water on tap was just lovely. The only improvement we could think of would be to have a slightly more modern TV as most people are used to flat screens and we did take a while to get used to the smaller TV. However that is a minor detail and we didn't watch much TV anyway as we were out and about exploring!
The garden was great and fenced all round (although if you have a doggy escape artist you might want to double check as some of the fencing is hidden behind trees and bushes) but it kept ours in no problem. Lovely views over the countryside and it was nice to see the sheep wandering on the hillside when you woke up in the morning. There was plenty to keep us occupied on the farm- the swimming pool, games room, outdoor toys and exploring the fields, streams and woodland.
The cottage is perfectly situated to explore both Exmoor and to head west to the good beaches. We definitely recommend Hunters inn and Heddon Valley, Watersmeet and Saunton Sands beach. Combe Martin and Barnstaple are both not far away for all the essentials.
We were sad to leave Northcote Manor Farm and we would definitely return in the future.

We have been going away at Easter with 4 other families for the past 17 years and this is by far the best holiday we have had. We booked all 5 cottages so we were the only one's staying at the farm. The kids loved the pool and the games room, the dogs loved the luxury of the vast grounds and the walks and the adults loved the relaxing environment. We were very lucky with the weather which meant we were able to visit a lot of the local beaches. Jim and Linda (owners) were fabulous hosts and the little touches - home made cookies on arrival, fresh flowers and a bottle of wine in each cottage were very welcoming.

“Excellent stay!”
Reviewed 10 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

One of 5 cottages on this non working farm in an increadibly peaceful part of Devon. Clean and functional with an old world charm, great for kids as there is a pool and a good chance of other children / families staying in one of the adjoining 4 other cottages. Very close to Woolacombe, Croyde and Exmoor national park, there is loads to do, including just relaxing in the beautiful gardens of the farm. I recommend a stay!
