We (family of 4 adults and three children) spent a glorious week at this gem of a place.
We loved both the pools, and the walled garden was perfect for a run around and a few games of table football.
The cottage was equipped with everything we needed and alot more eg lots of games for both old and young, homemade scones with jam and clotted cream were there to greet us on our arrival to.
Perfect location .... perfect holiday house.
No doubt, we will be back.

Lovely cottage on a private estate with lots of facilities. My family and grandchildren loved the Pool, walled garden for games, fishing, tennis and just being free to play in such a friendly place.
Loads to do and places to visit in the surrounding area and we were lucky with the weather. All together a great holiday.

“excellent cottage on site to match, handlily situated for tourism”

Cottage was well set up with needed utiities, plus some nice homely touches eg toys/games/CDs etc, stair gates, bed linen, towels. And the scones and cream and jam a nice touch after a long drive. For the few small queries we did have the owner was very responsive. The heated indoor pool, open all hours, was most welcome - although oddly, scarcley used by others.
The immediately local facilities - a good pub, fuel, Spar - were handy although sharp ears needed to walk up the short but narrow lane. Car needed at night...
Lots to see and do within short distance. Kingsbridge - charming: Bigbury and Burgh Island - do not miss: Overbeck: a treat for garden lovers, has to be seen and experienced. Oh, just to mention: weak to non-existant phone signal.

“Lovely cottage & surroundings ”
Reviewed 5 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Lovely cottage in quiet beautiful surroundings.
Nearby indoor pool was used every day & most days we had it to ourselves.
Great touch of scones, clotted cream, jam, cookies & a pint of milk waiting on arrival.
Fantastic big bathrooms on 1st & 2nd floor. Limited space downstairs but made decent use of it with mod cons to help a party of 7 relax.
Would definitely recommend others to visit

“A nice cottage, but a little tired”

We've spent a weekend at Mill Cottage with friends. The Colmer Estate is lovely with an indoor and outdoor pool, tennis court, lake, children's play equipment etc. Sadly the outdoor pool had no water in it during our stay in May.

The cottage is comfortable and overall nice with new modern bathrooms. However compared to other cottages we've stayed in it is a little tired. The kitchen is not that well equipped (no beer glasses, not enough dishwasher tabs, bin bags etc.) and the bedding is grotty and needs replacing.

It served us well for our weekend away and we loved the area, but some investment is required to keep it good.

Glad you enjoyed the Colmer Estate. The outdoor swimming pool had been undergoing some refurbishment, which is why it was empty. It will be ready for when it is heated from the late spring bank holiday through to September. Thank you for your feedback. We haven't had any complaints before, but we will review the kitchen equipment and bedding at the cottage.
