Leave your passport at home, as you don't need a trip to the med to experience spectacular coastal views, with lots of interesting foodie places nearby. This is just the place for coastal walks and then relax on the balcony in the evenings with a glass of wine watching the boats sail past.
Or you could take a short drive to Kingswear and hop on the ferry to Dartmouth. A perfect location for a relaxing break along Devon's coastline.
Our grandson enjoyed playing in the sheltered cove directly in front of the apartment. There is also a little café in the cove to get a drink while you relax.
We spent a lovely day at Broadsands Beach and made use of the complimentary beach hut which was equipped with everything we needed for a perfect day.

“Comfortable and Relaxing Stay with a View to Die for”

Stayed at Avocet 2 in early March 2015 for a week with my wife and two young boys. We stayed as part of trial setup by the owners and was a little apprehensive before visiting as this was the first time we had done anything like this.

I needn't had worried, we had a superb week. The apartment is located in a fantastic setting overlooking Fishcombe Cove, which was easily accessible and the boys loved the beach and sea. One of the apartments best features is the balcony which overlooks the cove - as we were very lucky with the weather, my wife and I enjoyed our morning coffee watching the sun rise over the communal garden. My wife also suffers from a bad back and struggles sleeping in beds which she is not used to, however, the beds in Avocet 2 are so comfortable, she said she hasn't slept better in a long time! I think a new bed at home might be on the cards .... uh oh!

I'm not sure, but I believe we were the first to stay in the apartment. The block is a new build and looked brand spanking new and very clean as well. We could tell that the owners had put considerable thought into making the place look nice and comfortable to stay in - there wasn't anything we felt should have been in the apartment which wasn't. The only thing which didn't work was the kettle, but a quick phone call and the owners were straight round with a brand new replacement.

Overall, we had a very relaxing and comfortable stay. We are very fond of South Devon and this gave us a great base to explore Brixham, Paignton and Torquay. Thank you Avocet 2, we hope to be back in the summer to test out the BBQ!
