Just returned from a 5 day break in Brix
ham.. The weather was fantastic which helps so much in ones perception of a lovely venue, however must say the house is run by the most charming couple who bend over backwards to make the stay memorable.. breakfasts to die for , views to behold and beds to relax in after the 92 steps from harbour to beacon house. We are in our 80's but managed it daily sometimes twice..so good to have been there..we wish Nigel and Amanda a very happy future with their beautiful enterprise..Regards Jill and Barry

Room Tip: use you sat nav to find beacon house at least on the first occasion..

Hello Barry and Jill, absolute pleasure it was to host you guys and glad you enjoyed the challenge of the 92 steps...................not bad for a couple in their 80's RESPECT!
We really do hope you come to these parts again and stay with us at Beacon House, perhaps to celebrate that big wedding anniversary coming up! Take care both of you Amanda & Nigel

Stayed for 2 nights in June in the room on the top floor. View of the harbor and outdoor deck with seating was wonderful. Room recently renovated. Nice finishes in room and bathroom. Very well done. Nigel and Amanda could not be more accommodating or helpful. Location is great - just a very short 5-minute walk into town. Parking is available, but tight, but honestly most of the core roads in the town center are unbelievably tight. So we were thrilled just to have a place to park off the street. Would recommend minimizing any driving while in Brixham. The food served for breakfast was also very good, with a lot of variety offered for a B&B. Would definitely stay here again if returning to Brixham.

Great review thanks guys.................but sorry about the roads, its fair to say they weren't made for the car more the horse and cart! Great to receive all your positive feedback and yes, if you do return to Brixham someday, then please give us a call, would love to see you both again. Amanda & Nigel

We don't usually stay at B&B's, but I decided to release my inner Alex Polizzi and give Beacon House the once over. Well, I can tell you, Alex couldn't make a program out of this one, there's absolutely nothing to find fault with. Location - fantastic, food - fantastic, room - fantastic, Amanda and Nigel - fantastic hosts. Shame the maximum rating is only excellent, Beacon House deserves more, how about outstanding!

Good two night stay in Beacon House. Onsite parking which can be a rarity in these seaside places, to well decorated rooms with a lovely harbour view, delicious and plentiful breakfasts, with Amanda's light option offering that something different.

Would highly recommend Lytehouse, on Nigel & Amanda's "go to" list of places, good for high-quality modern British with a twist, but also Ayur at Pilgrims, a Keralan restaurant, clearly not your typical Indian or indeed British fare, but so worth the venture up the stairs and away from all the tourist traps. Absolutely delicious authentic food, reasonably priced too. Owner so helpful guiding you through the menu. Had local Lemon Sole dry fried in Keralan spices. She provides the guidance then her Keralan born hubby works his culinary magic!

Hi guys, thanks for the review and glad to see you enjoyed a couple of our restaraunts which don't always get the praise they deserve as they are a little "off pitch".

We stayed for two nights in this beautifully restored period house perched above Brixham harbour. The views over the harbour, marina and out to sea are spectacular. There is also the bonus of parking, which is rare in this part of Brixham. Our hosts, Nigel and Amanda, were very friendly and helpful. They were able to recommend some great restaurants and places to visit. The room was immaculate with every detail covered for a comfortable stay. Finally, the breakfasts were delicious, with the option of a tasty lighter cooked breakfast in addition to full traditional breakfast.
